GFX Chat Thread

Hmmmm... I am trying to freehand more of my wares these days...
I believe a drawing tablet is in order...

I use the mousepad on my lappy, which is a pain in the rectum

' 3' I'm not too great at graphics, but I do it for fun I guess. There seems to be a lot of people who are pretty good here which makes even sharing anything painful as I'm most own worst critic and hate myself. Self hate fuels me.


I think my biggest problem is I lack structure or a routine? Technique? I don't know. I open photoshop and then just throw random crap together until I'm content enough. But I'm this way with most mediums. Like paint is now finger paint and it's all over my walls but it's pretty amirite? That's me and photoshop. lel

Anywayyyy don't know if this is the right place for it but this is a banner or two I made about a month or two ago when I was less lazy. Made them for a fraaaan.

On a side note, c4d make me rage.

 

I hated C4D's when i started gfx:ing as well cus i was like wtf do i do with them. But then i started using them with different layer styles and shit and they work great for most gfx i do(did). Most of the C4D i use i have to remove 90% of with the eraser tool, but when i get some certain special effect like a bubble or a lightning fraction that i like at one spot i just take it. It makes things look quite sharp and flowish when you introduce yourself to the idea of C4D's more.

 

Generally speaking, at one point in time I use to be able to effectively use c4d. I started photoshopping when I was younger, because I frequented a forum called AnimeChains (no longer active). I really enjoyed photoshop until I drifted away from forums in general and then was on a very long hiatus. Ever since that period of time, it's like I forgot how to use it or to even work photoshop. Lol Should be like riding a bike, you never really forget, but to be honest I haven't the slightest clue how I use to make things nice.

Maybe in my old age I'm developing Alzheimer's lolol

When I use c4d, I typically do a lot of smudge, distortion, feathering and blurring. Sometimes erasing. Problem is, don't know if you have this problem as well, finding c4d that I find nice enough or relevant enough. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Or maybe I'm more picky than I think.

But I always think I found some that will work nice, and then after playing with it for 12 hours, internally raging and almost burning my house down with said rage, I realize it's crap. Lololol

well i've been on gfx hiatuses for years. I just do stuff when i feel like it, and since i am lazy i don't do it very often z.z'. I used to do some gfx on a forum i was previously a moderator on(god have mercy on those wasted years and time z.z'). I usually have a vision how i want my stuff to look like before i make them. Having irrelevant C4D's is easily bypassed by getting more or just know how to make them relevant(could be colors, depth and atmosphere) which all can be fixed through various means. I've never really smudged brushes(tbh i've only done one single smudge thing ever) as they lose most of the quality. But i guess it depends on the C4D you're using. xd

 

I tried getting into using C4D's a few years ago, but it never stuck. I should try again sometime.. I keep using random images in teh same way I would C4D's.

I know that feeling. Got damn rusty since I've last done anything at least half decent.

Nah I don't use that sort of stuff. I used to host it on a past forum I was on.
But then it got the axe for a bit, so yea.... no more hosting lol
