Normal Game Thread Death Note RPG Game!!

Scum hunting isn't as reliable as people like to think it is. In actual normal circumstances, players are actually allowed to talk about whatever roles they have, as well as they are free to fake whatever role they don't have. In the advanced games I've played in the past, it's courtesy for the GM to draft up a list of roles that could potentially be in the game (not all are used and they are picked by rng) as well and giving the players the general ratio of greens/blue/red. It makes for some very interesting and in-depth games. It also gives a lot more for people to talk about, as well as the giving the chance to play mind games with other people and form alliances/seek out info on the enemy.

Scum hunting with these rules is basically "I don't like what they're saying!", "I don't like how they said that!" or "Wow they seem really wolfish!". And yeah - for Ouki - given the amount of roles that have ever been used in mafia games - it IS going to be a wild guess as to what his role could possibly be. You talk about generosity but all I see is a game heavily stacked against the townies! So yeah, considering the current state of things I think I will complain a little, thanks!

At least we have role reveal on death, amirite???

 

I'm not sure how it's hard to guess how Ouki avoided dying without asking Ouki himself. It was either because the lynch was cancelled (i.e. Chief ability) or he had a lynchproof ability. Either way, it seems likely that it ties in to Ouki's own ability rather than anyone else's. It's self explanatory if Ouki had a passive lynchproof ability (one shot probably, if that's the case), but if it was a Chief ability, it just seems unlikely that someone else spend one shot of their ability to save Ouki when 1) it's the first day and 2) most people pretty much agreed that Ouki was suspicious. The only difference would be that if Ouki is Chief, he could save someone else, but would town want to depend on that possibility in the first place? If Ouki was capable and willing to use such an ability, it would mean that he would have thought that the person who was going to get lynched was a townie or something. A safety net perhaps, if Ouki were to use it correctly, but that doesn't mean that town has to do something different to find scum, nor does it provide a hint who scum is.

I don't want to get into that ability Nika mentioned (converting to scum after being lynched) since that ability sounds pretty unorthodox, so I would rather stick with whatever was shown in the DN Guide with and other basic roles. We could go on about any other creative role and it would just lead town going in circles because of the sheer number of possibilities. It's basically just dwelling on unlikely possibilities that we have no reason to believe in.

On another note, regarding to Sage's vote on Luna and that whole thing, I'm leaning on Luna being town. Yes, Luna would have the same role as Seper, but judging from Luna's actions regarding to that whole thing, I don't think scum would take the "I'm a sub, this is literally my first day phase" stance. I think scum would be more careful since they are one man short and would try to defend Seper's actions. That doesn't mean if Luna were to take that action, she would have been scum, but by taking the alternate route, it makes it less likely because that simply doesn't sound like something scum would try to do. After all, no townies are dead and mafia is already at a disadvantage.

 

In the few mafia games I've played, most were closed set up with no roles revealed by the GM, nor the ratio of the roles. However, we were always allowed to role claim. :/ So I have to agree with Luna there.

Reason: Because he/she got very defensive when I went fishing on Day 1. No one else on my suspect list seemed to make a big deal about anything.

 

Can we move on from Ouki please? Ouki was not being read Town last phase, everyone who didn't vote him pretty much didn't want a lynch - there was no reason for the Chief to block that lynch as opposed to saving it for themselves or a player they really read as Town. Ergo, it only makes sense to me that Ouki IS the Chief, and so we'll likely just end up with a lynch on the now-powerless to save himself Chief. We're not lynching there today.

Dude I just barely started your reading your comments first comment you make is to vote out globear is for commenting too much and being too nice that might be a good reason to have suspicion but not to vote.
