You walk over towards the stairs you previously watched the mystery Unknown use moments earlier. You nod nonchalantly at Paul decomposing near the petunia's. After pushing the door open and walking up the stairs, you're back on the second floor.

"There's two doors we haven't gone through past that security room... Hey, how bout you choose which one we go in Umbles?" I squeeze her arm a little as I propose the choice.

 

"Ooohh~! Really?!" Umbra squeals in delight. She hums happily as you walk past the blood trail, through the reception area and through the newly unlocked doors. Umbra points over your shoulder. "The right one!" With your key card in hand, you tap and enter the lounge room.

i search the room carefully trying to see if there are any secrets or stuff to grab

 

(I'm gonna go play some HoMM3 while handing the wheel over to someone else.)

 

You take a quick glance around the room to see if you can stop anything out of the ordinary. There was the couple of rotting corpses in one corner - something Umbra turned her nose up to very quickly. "Too sour, too sour!" you ignored them and took your time to look around each chair, table and monitor that you could. In the end, all you found was another page of Paul's Diary.

Paul Langford Diary Entry #4

It's been about two years since I started working here. They assigned me to a different post (It's closer to the surface), that basically serves as a temporary holding/procesing area. I still live down in the same cube though. For a while now, I've been able to get sneak peaks at whatever horrors The Caretaker brings into Ashgate before they get imprisoned.

Now, I have seen many different things in Ashgate, but this new guy takes the cake.

We have so many vile an terrifying Unknown's hidden anyway in Ashgate, to the point where I'm just not surprised by anything any more. Well, that was true until this guy showed up with The Caretaker one day. Belphagor. They're drinking buddies. Can you believe this shit?! And what's more - Belphagor didn't even need to be captured either. They just showed up in the lobby one day, joking around like it was nothing. Belphagor made no fuss as the personel here ushered him into one of the underground enclosements. This is the first time The Caretaker has brought an Unknown to Ashgate without there being kicking, screaming or bloodshed. I wasn't the only one who was in shock. When someone asked The Caretaker what exactly happened, he just stared at them. The whole room froze. I'm pretty sure at least half of us thought he was going to gut the guy for asking. Instead, The Caretaker patted this guy on the head and said "Ashgate is getting famous now." and walked off.

If that wasn't the most absurd thing to have happened in here yet, you obviously haven't heard the Blue team talking about the new haul. Apparently when Belphagor told them his name, one of the women just fainted. After she woke up, she was a mess. Now see, out of all the people on that team, she's probably the only one who is religious - science and religion just don't mix together so great - so when this women told them that this guy was one the Seven Princes of Hell? They were speechless. Belphagor just grinned from behind the glass.

Apparently, pretty much all of the Unknowns held here are products of super obscure folklore, myths, or from accidents and magic - but bringing Belphagor into the mix just threw everyone off. Everyone is questioning their beliefs. I saw one guy praying desperately in the Dorm halls. What a joke.

You frowned. The Caretaker was human, wasn't he? That's why the Unknown's feared him. Why did he have an Unknown as a drinking buddy? Something just wasn't adding up.

You were pretty sure that you had searched everything that you could in this room.

You did neglect to check the corpses. You weren't really that enthusiastic about it, however. It didn't look they they had anything of use on them

There wasn't much else left to do now but to go into the library. As you entered, the musky small of books wafted over you. Old, expensive books from the days where text was still printed on paper. You take in a deep breath.

i look around and pull on books slightly with the hope there might be a secret passage

 

As you look around, you notice that on one wall, there are several books missing from one shelf. After your general investigation, it is clear there there is no secret passageway.

Try to check what categories are books divided into, hoping I'll find something about the place I'm in

 

There is nothing you can find that would give information about Ashgate. You think that these books probably pre-date the company itself.
