Discussion A new Atari console?

Saw this video and it looks pretty interesting. Obviously it could be some sort of new hardware which just plays past released games, but seems sorta weird for them to want devs? I'm sorta interested in seeing what happens with this.

I have some memories with the Atari 2600, as I played my Aunt's when I was younger with my brother. Plot-twist: it's a new console that out-powers scorpio

 

I was thinking maybe they're going after indie games? But, I think we're thinking like this because we're thinking about way back then. There's not really anything stopping a hypothetical new console to be ps4 level, scorpio level, switch level, etc, etc, being able to play old games and them getting modern games too.

 

Yeah, but that's where exclusive games come in too, right? Either something really innovative with the casual market or exclusives are pretty important things to a console.

 

That's the whole point of having devs contact them, if this were the case, no? They could make a new IP, by rights to an existing one, or even if it's like timed exclusive.

 

Still pretty unlikely for it to be a new modern one, but anything can happen.

 

Either way it'd be hopefully something else shown at e3.

 

Weren't they making something else, or was that like, new hardware for the classic games? Swear there was something Sega talked about month ago.

Explain further? There's literally nothing known about this.
