Normal Game Thread Big Trouble in Little Salem

After re-reading CR's posts again, it's true it's possible he just made newbie mistake due to the pressure (and him being unable to handle it well), but my sus on Prada remains. I just can't understand how someone defend another player as far as he did on DP1 when CR is not a confirmed town. Unlike ToS, there's no N0 so no action prior to this phase that makes it possible for Prada to be sure of CR being town. Even with communication being allowed between town outside of game thread, it's not guaranteed if people being honest, so no way to be sure if someone is really town or not without proper investigation. He suddenly mentioned Nick and pushed the attention to him during the argument with Ningen/Falcon. The way I see it, it looks more like he knows CR is not part of scum and defend him strongly so in case CR flips town, he will get town cred. That, or Prada's just a hot-headed town that's easily provoked.

Ningen and Falcon didn't look any better. Not only they seem to be in sync quickly so early during the first few hours and pressure CR together (and pressure Prada too), Ningen got into long argument with Prada and later with Ratchet. It looks like he's trying to break the attention here and there and everywhere by prolonging the argument to ensure the DP will end without proper direction/lynch. Again, he could be a hot-headed town just like Prada's case.

Ratchet didn't seem to scumhunt as much. He looked too emotional with Ningen. I'm not sure if it's because of personal reason (hopefully you two calm down if this is the case) or because he's a scum again and trying to push a lynch on the most sus looking player.

Nick - I don't see his post as role-fishing. More like pointing out the inconsistency from CR (he claimed quickly on previous game and not on this one). I see him as neutral atm.

Wowee - consistent with pointing out people's post that sounds off and questioned them (about CR, about Nick, etc.) Neutral atm.

Rot - Just like Ratchet, didn't scumhunt as much. But he didn't keep his focus too much on 1 person like Ratchet, neutral atm (God forbid Rot and Rat are both scums, RIP us if it happens) ｡ﾟ( ﾟ^∀^ﾟ)ﾟ｡

Btw people seem to forget, at first the argument about CR not defending himself was between Prada and Globear ._. Not sure what to think of Globear with him/her seem to be able to disappear nicely. Tbf I don't remember much about Quick, Bimbonium or LordMaple either.

I don't believe so. I didn't see it mentioned in the OP, at least, so I'd assume not.

What I saw was you egging on Ningen, speculating that there was an 80% chance that Reaper is Scum, and then immediately backing off and acknowledging that he's probs just new when Ratchet stepped in. You were going with the flow when Ningen was pressing the attack, and then going with the flow when Ratchet rebuked Ningen therein.

It should be fairly clear from my accusation that I disagree with Ningen, not Ratchet. I call your 80/20 evaluation of Reaper's likelihood to be Scum to be opportunistic in light of you agreeing with Ratchet's take that Reaper is just new and doesn't know what he's doing.

I predominately scumhunt by identifying and calling attention to fallacious reasoning, which was pretty much the entirety of my last post.

I'm in something of a similar boat, though; not knowing where to place my vote, that is. While I somewhat understand defending Reaper, I feel like Prada's defense therein was perhaps over and above what I'd expect a Towny to do. However, Falcon's attitude has struck me as wishywashy, seeming to support the Reaper bandwagon from the sidelines when that dominated the thread, but then immediately stepping away and seeming to condemn it when that became popular. Nick's "joke" is also difficult to swallow, as it could have easily provoked an undesired claim from Reaper, and I expect a higher level of competence from him; his denying this possibility only makes it stranger to me. I dunno what to make of Quick, but it's interesting to me that he posted multiple times and yet still failed to clarify how he investigated.

Did you miss where Ningen had a 60/40 on him prior to his freaking out? So I asked him is it 80/20 by now? Which he responded 75/25

You're missing the point. Asking Ningen if his read was now 80/20 compared to the earlier 60/40 isn't pointing out anything about Reaper, it's merely pushing the narrative that Reaper is probs Scum, while simultaneously making someone else (Ningen) responsible if that doesn't pan out. You don't take any issue with Ningen's read, so I can only read your post as encouraging him to take that stance, and for you to then immediately and unequivocally back off when Ratchet does take issue with Ningen's stance is very inconsistent. Hence, wishywashy.

 

When you put it that way, I can see where you're coming from.

It was early on, I'm open to more people's opinions... barely anyone even posted at that point so I was read checking with the next most active who I leaned town on. Though throwing him under the bus due to his stance is a bit of a stretch. I am quite evidently and obviously the one that prodded him the most when it comes to his reaction.

The fact of the matter is Reaper's posts screamed scum, but with the additional info there's leeway of being noobish town, which brings uncertainty onto the table. So yeah, I did back down on my initial certainty from the original 80-20. Now it's more of a 50-50. So fair I guess.

 

You're trying to push your agenda you and ningen so hard, damn. Ningen's opinion is just an opinion, not a fact, not an evidence that points out I'm scum. How i see it, is you guys are probably teamed up since from the start you both were attacking me. Shifting the attention from any potential scum to me so you can concoct your perfect little plan with minor inconvenience.

 

You understand these games are mainly about opinion? Can you contribute anything other than blame shifting?

 

To be fair, there will typically be very little evidence Day 1, so that's hardly a reasonable standard to hold him to. It;s hard to be 100% certain about anything in this game.

 

Can you contribute anything other than accusing me for being scum just because i happened to sarcastically say i was one? No.

 

Don't hurt yourself with that attitude.

 

Not sure how you make this an either/or. I don't feel like I was "too emotional", but even if I were, it may not necessarily be a bad thing. To say it's either something that needs culling or I'm scum strikes me as something of a false dichotomy.
