You know, one of the parts I'd wanna see most from SW:The Clone Wars final season actually would've been Yularen... Reacting to the political turmoil, chewing out Anakin for being so reckless in the space battle at courascant, warning him not to engage Dooku moments before he does, learning of Anakins "death" and seeing how he'd react... Not to mention the awesome naration. Such an underused character.

I imagine this is how their meetings go:

Guy 1: Should we fix the portal's issues? May be make it faster and simpler?

Guy 2: Nah, man... New drop down menus and useless tables.

Guy 1: I like this idea.

We know how Yularen reacted to the Senate being dissolved in A New Hope. He had utter contempt for the Senate and all the corruption. He was glad Palpatine not only dissolved the Senate but also threw all the Senators in prison.

As for Anakin's death... May be we'll get something in Thrawn: Alliances? We know that Yularen is good friends with Thrawn and Vader will be a protagonist of that novel alongside Thrawn. My guess is that Thrawn will somehow figure out that Vader is Anakin and may be we'll get a peak into Yularen's feelings on Anakin if/when Thrawn asks about him.

 

That'd sure be an interesting way to show it, a nice bit of expo in an already great novel. Well, going to be great, there's a chance it's bad but we know it's not going to be.

 

It's a Thrawn novel by Timothy Zahn, who is as knowledgeable on Star Wars as James Luceno, and an even better writer overall. Of course it's going to be good.

All we need is Zahn to write a Halo trilogy, hopefully centered around Preston Cole... Maybe one during the Insurrection then two in the Covenant War.

I would honestly welcome a Halo novel by Zahn that revolves around Rtas Vadum. And a Forerunner or Flood novel by James Luceno.

 

Actually, a nice novel for Rtas Vadum would be great. "Hey, this is the secondary protagonists best buddy, one of the stealthiest and most elite special ops in the covenant, heavily decorated officer... Yeah, let's ignore him."

 

He did get the Halo: Shadow of Intent novel. But it'd be nice to see a novel that spans his entire life without f@cking over what has already been established. James Luceno would be perfect for that. The man knowns how to write a good book that has a fresh story while also answering some plot holes and keeping the whole continuity consistent. The Plagueis and Tarkin novels are excellent examples of this.
