It was just a picture of the march on independence day in Warsaw and comment "polish national March after being threatened to be banned by HGW (president of warsaw) after one flare being lit"

Well as you can imagine it was a metric shitton of flares all around the Palace of Culture and Science.

We are quite stubborn nation to be fair but the value we put on tradition and our identity is somewhat near crazy levels

I've lost the picture unfortunately.

It was a pic showing Warsaw towards Palace of Culture and Science in late evening of 11.11 . With masses of people and tons of red flares burning
Few days earlier president of warsaw threatened to ban the march if she sees "at least one flare being lit"

Well.. what else could she expect :3

I'm honestly in favour of banning fireworks and flares (at least those that are safety hazards and over 80 decibels). They cause pollution (Kolkata was recently covered in a dense smog cause by a combination of too much fireworks plus 90% humidity), regularly cause eye and ear injuries and even burns, fireworks in Asia are made by underpaid labourers (including child labourers) in hazardous conditions.

I think the Mayor of Warsaw had good intentions. She just needed to get them across and explain herself in a manner that wouldn't piss EVERYONE off like heck.

 

I understand that, however she did it virtually in order to piss people off. She's the remain of previously ruling party, so she basically HAS to oppose to everything that current ruling party says. And current ruling party is in favor of independence day celebration.

 

Sounds like Indian politics.

Our current regime opposed literally all of the previous one's plans [just for the sake of opposing] and stalled the passage of those plans in Parliament [and then blamed the previous regime for not doing anything]. When the current regime came to power, they rebranded and implemented the previous regime's plans and took all the credit [and diverted blame back to the previous regime when something went wrong]. And the media and people of this country eat their shit up like mentally ill puppies eating their own diarrhoea.
