My cousin sister Sumana and her husband Nikhil did something like this.

They both studied in the same college, and Nikhil is the classmate of Mukunda, another cousin brother of ours. They met through Mukunda and fell for each other.

But Sumana's father (one of my dad's younger brothers) would never have approved of the match-up because he's one of those ******* insane orthodox Madhwa Brahmin types.

Note: The "******* insane orthodox" bit there is an understatement.

So the two got together with Nikhil's parents, and with some help from my father (who is liberal), set up meetings between them and Sumana's parents, and Sumana's father in the end agreed to the "arranged" marriage.

Sumana's father got heckin' bamboozled
