I'm not emotionally mature enough to let it end. But I can see it ending with volume 120 or 1200 chapters. The reason the arcs have been so long is because Oda has literally run out of ideas to play and stories to depict, because only so much stuff can happen before the final war So instead he drags a single arc into oblivion. I think he has a very good idea of how the final arc will play out and I'll be looking forward to that.

 

Well I will disagree with this

The arcs are not long but they seems long becoz of few factors. Let's take example of wano which let's say has 140 chaps in total before it ends.
During peak when Oda was churning 45 chaps an year it will take somewhat more than 3 years for arc to finish.
But now Oda churns like 30-35 chaps and same arc runs for like 5 years.
Also once you catch up with one piece the slow release of chap then starts affecting the flow of story

 

Even if Oda put out 45 chapters a year it'd still take Wano 3 years to finish. Its not about the frequency of the chapters or the number of breaks Oda takes. Its about the story itself. What I meant to say is that there's not much stuff left in the story to happen. Just some lore to explain and areas to explore. but we still need to publish a good amount of volumes, how do we do that? By dragging a single arc to 100+ chapters. If it were Post TS Dressrosa wouldn't be 100 chapters. It would've been like Arabasta.

 

Oda stockpiling stuff to explain for the final arc makes me nervous because no matter how good of a storyteller you are, you are bound to run into problems when you try to sum up 20 years of mysteries into a couple chapters, this will either lead to a rushed arc or you'll just see a wall of text like that classic HxH page

You can either trust Oda and feel excited about how and when this stuff will unfold or worry how he will **** this up. I align myself with the former ngl
