After she got married, my sister and brother-in-law went on a trip to Heidelberg and then to Costa Rica. And that was despite warnings from me that we're still in the middle of a ******* pandemic. She also wants to go to the gym despite such a place being a hotspot for viral transmission. My father insists on coming to the office even though all of us keep begging him to stay the **** at home till at least this month end. And he goes out to the market to buy fruits and vegetables himself, despite the current presence of me, my wife, and my sister at home.

But that's not what I'm really pissed about. No. It's their sheer hypocrisy.

My wife and I are planning to go to Mysore this weekend to stay at a farmhouse they own there. It's near the outskirts of Mysore in an area that I can best describe as a mix of suburban residential area and farmland. We won't make contact with anyone, won't stay at or go to hotels, there will be nobody there but us, the parents-in-law, the sister-in-law (she and I plan on doing a bit of gaming together), and the wife's maternal grandma (who I get along greatly with). The in-laws have all been working mostly from home, and grandma doesn't go anywhere. They're actually taking better precautions than even the most paranoid people in my family.

And my sister is all like "Oh, it's a pandemic! We have aged parents at home and one just got major surgery! Please don't go! Please stay here. You're being reckless!"

Woman, you want to go to the gym but I can't go to a farmhouse where I won't make contact with anyone?

Great. Now I feel guilty about ranting about my sister here. Not so about my dad. But my sister only.

Imo your sister is right advising you to stay inside, even though you will probably have no exposure to anything at all, but you never know what can happen. But that was a little hyprocritical to say, yes. Have some patience, it'll all be over soon hopefully.
