Yeah, our economy is in the toilet thanks to Modi, Jaitley, Sitharaman following Reagan's economic policies. The rich got richer, the middle class got poorer, and the already poor got bent-over-and-fucked-up-the-bum by some of the highest inflation rates in independent India's history.

For reference to the prior regime:
Yearly average inflation rate under Modi is roughly 1.8 times what it was during Manmohan Singh's tenure.

Just to give you an idea of how much Sitharaman hates the poor and middle class:
In 2020 she removed cereals, pulses, lentils, and edible cooking oils (including cold pressed ones that most rural folk consume) from the essential commodities list.

This makes them subject to GST at 5% or higher and also makes them exempt from stocking limits (which promotes hoarding by big players) and pricing controls (which, combined with hoarding, has resulted in edible cooking oil prices skyrocketing faster than my blood pressure whenever Sitharaman opens her mouth).

 

Imagine if there was a photo of Modi on those certificates. His popularity with skyrocket. /s/

Sitharaman logic:
Cereals, pulses, lentils, cooking oil are not essential items for Indian households

Imagine not considering motherfucking lentils and cooking oil as essential commodities for Indian households. Jesus Krishna Mohammed, just how ******* high was this woman when she made that decision?

PS:
Just to give you an idea of how monstrously petty Modi can really be:

1. In August-September 2018, Modi gave a paltry Rs. 100 crore in flood relief to Kerala (which was later increased to 500 crore after some backlash). Kerala had initially asked for at least Rs. 2,500/- crore. Just a month later, he would inaugurate a statue that cost the taxpayers Rs. 3,500 crore.

I would also like to point out that the GST regime seemingly hit Kerala quite hard compared to other states, and the centre owes them among the most dues of IGST (along with Karnataka). It's obvious Kerala is being single out for shitty treatment.

2. Another state that sees shitty treatment is TN. They also are owed a **** tonne of dues by the centre. TN is among the highest tax collecting states, but gets step-motherly treatment by the centre. Since the introduction of GST and especially after Sitharaman's fucked up income tax policies in 2019, TN has been facing an acute deficit, most of which can be cleared just from the centre giving them back their tax dues. For every Rs. 1.5 that TN pays in income tax, the centre gives it back Rs. 1 only.

Oh, and that's not all. There is a state of the art vaccine manufacturing facility in Chengalpattu in TN which could easily have increased India's SARS-COV-2 vaccine manufacturing capacity by 1.5 fold. But it's been lying unused. Why? Because it was a brainchild of the UPA and is located in the constituency of a party that has always been opposed to the BJP and religious-right parties in general. The Congress and the TN government begged Modi to allow manufacturing at the plant, but he never even responded. Heck, he didn't even attend Parliament sessions when the issue was to be brought up. Even Sitharaman, who is Tamil by heritage and who you would think would take pride in such a project, didn't bother to respond. She instead only attacked the TN health minister and the DMK and Congress over the demands to produce vaccines there.
