Always was, but I think that an android user is less likely to buy the next new thing every year.

Do you buy a new model every year which is just a larger phone with few more apps

I took the meaning more in the sense of them removing shit. Didn't one of the new samsungs remove the headphone Jack? Also they all do that shitty notch look that looks like shit too.

S20 didn't have a headphone jack IIRC. Yeah I wish they develop invisible front cameras quickly so we get the whole screen up front.

I hate the look, because that bit isn't even used. Doesn't it literally just turn black whyn you use literally anything outside of the home screen?

That was the case when they first came. Now they've started blending it with the wallpaper or screen so it doesn't loo that awkward

Well that's a plus. Hopefully they fix it by the time I buy a new phone in like 2030 lmao

Because Smucks will buy it anyway

    :k

Finalized a few models in the end:
    - HP Victus with Ryzen 5 5600H, RTX 3060, 16 GB RAM in dual channel, 512 GB NVMe SSD; only drawback seems to be the wi-fi 6 chip being slower than the competition (including much cheaper models) though still respectable and much faster than previous gen wi-fi chips. If we buy this, I will keep and the wife will take my Aspire 7 for herself.
    - Acer Aspire 3 or Aspire 5 Student with Ryzen 5 5500U or i5-1235U, iGPU only, same RAM and storage as above (though the storage and wi-fi 6 chip here are faster than in the Victus, and among the fastest in the segment as a whole).
    - Acer Aspire 5 Gaming with i5-1235U, RTX 2050M GDDR6, same RAM and storage and wi-fi 6 chip as the above-mentioned Acer models. Only issue with this and the Aspire 3/5 models above-mentioned seems to be poor quality charger cable and the pin on the charger which connects to the laptop (though the laptops themselves are solid, perhaps even more so than the below-mentioned Asus).
    - Asus Vivobook S15 with i5-1235U or i5-1240P, 16 GB RAM in dual channel, 512 GB or 1 TB NVMe SSD, wi-fi 6E chip (which means blazing fast internet). Seems good on paper as a whole, and build quality is rock solid (saw and tried out a piece in showroom). Only issue seems to be whether the display has PWM or not.

I have a cousin who uses iPhones, and he has a ludicrous IQ. But he doesn't change phones for five years, the chad.

I disagree. I have a client who changes Android phones every 18-24 months. And these aren't cheapshit ones, mind you, but upper mid-range ones that can easily be used for 4-5 years. I also have a cousin who buys literally every new generation of OnePlus.

Then there is our apartment watchman dude and a colleague in office, who use low-end phones costing less than INR 8k for 4-5 years.

    My phones:
Sony Erricson Xperia Mini Pro 2011-2015
    LG F70 D315K 2015-2020
    Samsung Galaxy A51 2020-2024/2025?

The lack of headphone jack peeves me to no end. It's why I want to jump brands the next time around if I can't find a decent mid-ranger with headphone jack.

    1. It's an iPhone 13 plated with 24K gold and silver.
    2. Because, as @Gobb so eloquently put it, schmucks will buy it anyway.

Absolute chad like my bro-in-law. He used a Samsung Galaxy S3 - and I ******* kid you not - from 2013 to 2022.

I was generalizing with a meme and I just mean I think more % apple users are more likely to buy the new phone every hear than the andoid base. I feel like you have way more older people and people who don't give a shit buying androids due to being cheaper, so those groups are a lot less likely to upgrade frequently.

Yeah, it's very annoying for those that want it. Like, I never really used it myself, but a lot did and it's an issue. They must save like 4c excluding it. The price is passed onto the consumer anyway, but I guess they don't decrease the price. So 4c on like how many million does add up.

    I remember you saying. xD
