Father was supposed to be discharged today.

However...

He refuses to get the Ascites in his abdomen be drained with needles. He has an anxiety (albeit not a full blown phobia) when it comes to needles. So they have to try to drain the Ascites fluid with meds only, so they have to keep him there for a couple of more days. And he has to have an IV needle in him the whole time feeding him Albumen drips.

Treating doctor is arranging for a therapist to help him get over his anxiety regarding needles so they can quickly drain the fluid.

To be fair: Ra's al Ghul was always ethnically ambiguous. He has been portrayed as descended from Eurasian Steppe nomads; and they're White, Turkic, and also Mongol. He has also been portrayed as being of Chinese/Mongol/Japanese descent a couple of times. But, as far as I know, never Arabic. In the DCAU (his other most notable appearance besides the Nolan trilogy) the appears to be Arabic at first glance, but a flashback reveals him to be of French-German descent.

And that's my pedantic quota fulfilled for the day.

I'd like to say you'll get used to it, but I'd be lying. It can take its toll, unless you're a freak (like my sister-in-law) who would love to work during the night and sleep during the whole damn day.
