I visited Germany in March-April 2024. Travelled to a few towns, including rural Germany. I had no issues with a Galaxy A51, which has only moderate signal reception strength.

However, you actually live and work there, so you probably know better. Then again, my sister and her husband also live there. They seemingly only face issues in a few rural settings, which is an issue the world over.

Is that a 'yes'?

Oh, that I don't question. They did make quality products, shitty business management aside.

I get the appeal. I certainly do. But you have to charge at low Wattage (like 7.5 to 10 W) in order to not fukk the battery's lifespan. But that entails ludicrous charging times. I'm talking 60 to 75 minutes to go from 50-60% to full at 10 to 12 Watt. That is excruciatingly slow.

Overall, it is not viable for long term use with current tech. May be when SiC batteries become more commonplace?

 

Every place I've been in had dogshit signal, dogshit speeds, dogshit wifi's and I've traveled nearly whole Germany at this point Germany has probaby the worst of them lot

 

Oh, I believe you about the wi-fi. It was indeed bad. My brother-in-law also keeps complaining about how shit broadband is there. However, I had no issues with 4G connectivity (my phone is 4G only) and my wife had no issues with even 5G. We both had issues only in some rural areas. Again: This is an issue the world over.

Exactly. I keep my phone on a stand and charge it (when needed at work). It is a pain in the ass to keep unplugging it when I receive a call, and then plug it back in when it is done. With wireless, you can just pick it up like nothing and put it back without worry.

As for overnight:
I believe all phones these days that come with wireless charging as well as most reputable brand wireless chargers, have settings to automatically stop charging when 100% or a certain preset threshold is reached.
