Looking back... Evangelion actually gave me a migraine.

The only positives I can think of are the opening theme being one of the greatest ever, and Shiro Sagisu's godly music.

But with some series, you just can't connect with them, no matter how hard you try, and no matter what disbelief of sensibilities you suspend.

Mangaka always have good reasons for associating certain characters with certain colours.

Yeah. Mangaka often give a purple motif to psychos, royalty, and wise (but also may be evil) old dudes. I guess Loki fits the first two.
