The "immigrants are stealing all the government benefits and affordable housing" thing goes back to the 1930s, dude. Fewer people are buying it these days. Even neoliberal economists don't buy that shit, and they actively contribute to the housing crisis. And I am honestly surprised you buy into that excuse.

There have been PhD dissertations and extensive public research debunking this. In fact, immigrants, refugees, and indigenous peoples are up to five or six times more likely to be homeless or underhoused.

You want to solve the housing crisis? Go after the rich and your MPs. Two-thirds of Australia's MPs are landlords who own three or more houses. 7% own as many as ten. Guillotine them, redistribute wealth, build more affordable housing. I would also like to point out that, much like the US, Australia has the infrastructure to house far more than its current homeless population. What it lacks is the political will to do it and stop scapegoating people fleeing nations Australia helped its western overlords to destabilize in the first place.

The fact that a nation with such a small-ass population and the world's lowest population density has a housing crisis is not the fault of immigrants. It is due to the cost of living crisis caused by neoliberal economics. Go after the rich.

If Cuba could solve their homelessness crisis despite being at the receiving end of the second harshest blockade in modern history, piracy sponsored by the US Navy (yes, that is a thing), and their own refugee influx crisis (from Haiti and destabilized African nations), a "free" and "wealthy" country with no restraints, like Australia, can.

Yes, Cuba has some homelessness and a severe underhousing problem. But that is solely the fault of Uncle Sam and his NATO allies. Cuba is artificially impoverished, has little space and resources, and still managed to put a roof over most of its citizens' heads.
