    They basically want to prevent you from being able to install whatever you want so you can only install apps from their play store, or something like that. Might have been doing other stuff, but the point of android was that you could do whatever, it's your phone.

    At this point, there is no sense in defending Android over iphone.

    Google can gargle my balls.

    Locking down Android to make it more difficult to install apps from third-party sources.
    Locking bootloaders.
    Ridiculous RAM requirements.
    An "anti-malware" app that does not do as advertised and instead just scans your photos and texts for AI LLM purposes.
    Invasive AI in everything, instead of focusing on improving system efficiency.
    A whole lot of invasive shit (well, more invasive than already is currently).

    As I type this comment, Android being cucked is among the top trending topics on the tech side of youtube.

    Literally the only criticism I can make of iphone right now is their dog-shit display tech. But the same can be said of Google Pixel series and Samsung's sAMOLED displays. Heck, iphone displays are made by LG and Samsung.

    There are some good Linux phones out there, and they even come with 7+ years of software support. Unfortunately, they are from manufacturers that nobody has heard of, they have limited production capacity, and the devices are not cheap for what they offer.

    The Librem series, for example, offer entry level specs at a flagship price. I understand their spirit, and commend the eight year software support commitment. But their phones are too expensive relative to capabilities.

    Dimensity 900 or Snapdragon 695 level SOC, and eMMC 5.1 or at most UFS 2.1 internal storage, all for the price of a Galaxy S24 or S25? Who the heck is going to buy that?

    I might have been thinking of that other OS on like a samsung that breaks call screening; graphine? Linux phone issues might have been price now that you mention it.

    You might have been thinking of Graphene (which is exclusive to Pixel series) and Lineage (which can be installed on any Android phone that has bootloader unlocked).
