    Man, I am so glad I moved to watching youtube on Firefox or Vivaldi. I checked the app this morning (after a good while) and it seems to have just gotten oh so worse.

    Download the video background play fix for Firefox. You can play youtube videos when you switch apps or lock the display.

    I'm surprised they still haven't completely and utterly cucked the mobile site as well. Or the desktop one, for that matter, considering that they are increasingly trying to push the youtube app for desktop.

    If I had to guess, they would get the most amount of traffic from the app anyway, so there's probably no point changing the website.
