The nas's you're referring to only have a limited number of hard drive slots. Backups are also "meant" to be 2 on site and 1 offsite with the two having different mediums.

Not overly so. You may not have a drive fail in 10 years. One may fail in 6 months. You don't need to back up everything, but the files you absolutely cannot lose should be backed up somewhere else. Even cloud.

 

Nas can be 1 backup. But like I say, for irreplicable files (for example family photos) you would want that backed up somewhere else too, just in case. Say other files are a game or movie? who cares no extra backup is needed.

Probably not really one, just different specs have different ability. It might just be plug and play storage not having apps. You need to link it.

 

I have bought a few ugreen things over the years and never had an issue. m.2 -> pcie adapter thing, external hdd power/sata to usb cable thing, general usb cables, etc.
