Chapter One
Dives right into a premonition. MC Keiji wakes up after having a realistic dream of being killed on a battlefield. Looks like he saw what was the future. Not sure how a leader of a US Special Forces unit is going to have a Russian-sounding last name.

Let's see if his dream proves to be true. Three hours of push ups sounds brutal!

Yep, it came true. That's eerie. The best soldier looks like a small teenage girl who will get blown away in a strong breeze. Interesting, they don't seem to be able to do much in the way of damaging the mimics.

Definitely think this version works better than the route they took for the Edge of Tomorrow film.

I'm curious if the same rules as the movie apply in this manga, though I know this is the original work.

 

Chapter Two
That's such a random question to ask someone on the battlefield. I mean, I get it, Rita is supposed to be a badass. What makes that axe so special that it is able to cut through the thick armor or skin of the mimics?

Took you long enough to realize that you could alter the future.

Chapter Three
Finally, we get the rules laid out before us so we're all on the same page. Only took him 20+ deaths to finally kill a mimic. Ooh a new character gets introduced. I wonder what skills she is going to bring to the table. I'm guessing mechanic/engineer from seeing her work on the suits.

Yes, give me a war axe as well. Though, I think maybe a lance or sword with the same materials would be just as well.

 

Chapter Four
Ooh, so the author hints that Rita may have had the same power as our MC, interesting. It would certainly make sense. If she continues to die and come back to life, she could master the art of war to such a degree as to seem untouchable. She knows where the mimics will come from, how many and what their first attacks will be.

Premonition is a wonderful thing.

Let's see how bad he botches the initial trial run with the axe.

 

Chapter Five
Dude is treating the thug soldier like Flash Thompson from the Spider-Man movies.I'm confused. Did he lose on purpose or did that last minute shove from Rachel cause the soldier's angle of attack to shift to one that was outside his ability to react to?

It seems he earned the attention of Rita though.

 

Chapter Six
Not a bad sight to wake up to. Ooh, he's going to get him some action from the hot chef. Not a bad way to go into the next battle. That's probably because she is the same librarian from back in your childhood, if history of reading these sorts of manga tend to go.

Figures that his headaches would get worse. He's storing more and more information each time.

Hmm, what's going to make this loop different?

 

Chapter Seven
Ooh, Rita has figured out that he's been looping. I was wondering when she would catch on to it. It shouldn't have been surprising though. I mean you have a green recruit who is mowing down mimics on the battlefield and using a similar weapon to Rita without any of the battlefield experience she acquired.

Seems to match up to the film so far, albeit with some changes. I wonder if she's going to start training him now.

 

Chapter Eight
Flashback to the childhood/youth of Rita, though it looks like that's not her real name? Just goes to show that you should never be too confident. The mimics attacked the small town in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania with no seeming reason for it.

Yep, there we go. So, that's how the name came about.

Yep, thought so. She's going to explain how the time loop works in the next chapter I bet, along with how she lost the ability.

 

The rule was that you could continue to 'reset' unless you had a blood transfusion because in the movie, he obtained the ability to reset the time through the blood of a special mimic that was killed near or on him.
