    Video playback often takes a while to start up when I open a video in new tab or window. And this is regardless of internet speed. I have no choice but to refresh page. Then it starts up perfectly well once I hit play.

    At other times, when I open a video link in a new tab or window, playback starts automatically (not always, but many times) despite the fact that I have settings (in both Vivaldi and Waterfox) set to block autoplay. The autoplay block works perfectly on literally every website other than youtube.

    Yes, please.

    The first issue I can't say I really have, my version is just the page doesn't properly load on occasion but have to reload. Definitely annoying, but am happy to live with that as a proxy of blocking ads.

    I confirm doesn't work. Here's the answer, sounds like not a YouTube thing but just in general functionality.

    idk if you would want this but there is a userscript that blocks autoplay if you're into trusting a random person I mean you can look at the code itself.. @upsurge

    https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43033829 You would need to install tampermonkey or greesemonkey, then on youtube click the extension, then create a new userscript, then paste and save. But then it seems to make it that you have to double click to play it after.

    Edit: Actually, the double click to play is only if you have autoplay on block. xD

    Yup. Not sure if my memory of manga/anime is blender, but he had some interactions with Zoro during Drum Island, and Vivi rode him during Elbaf.

    As I said: Autoplay block works a majority of the time. Videos play by default seemingly only a minority of the time on Vivaldi and even less on Waterfox.

    I would honestly rather live with this than going through the hassle of installing a user-script.
