That difference in DL and UL, though.

Nice. Yeah Starlink has been good for me too. When my old Gen 2 (?) one died, they replaced it with the newer one for free. Let me keep the mini router too, so I use that + ethernet to the new router for better stability. Obviously I'd much rather kick it when in a house with fibre to the premises but does the job if you don't have better alternatives.

Kind of funny though the speedtests are lower than the performance you get. like a steam download for me is usually 40-50 megabytes per second, which is a bit faster than that suggests.

I think any satellite or mobile doesn't offer mirrored speeds at least here (as if that is some fancy tech it should be the standard) but some of the fibre plans have it (not all).

Whats even bettter is the ping. The best i ever had was high 50's now I get the low 20's. Feels the same, but ya know the placebo effect.

Yeah, way better. You had some other satellite before didn't you? How does the cost compare?

Nice then, i think other satellite ones are expensive for what they are. Kind of makes sense i guess, not cheap to run

I didn't mean for the speed, that prince for dogshit speed is shit, just makes sense the service would be more expensive than traditional connections.

Yeah, there is a massive discrepancy in air fibre plans here as well.

Airtel and Jio air fibre both usually give you no more than a quarter upload speed versus download speed.

If you have a base plan that is 60-100 mbps dl, for example, you can expect ul of 15-25 mbps. Even for the 300-450 mbps plans, ul speed is no more than 30-50 mbps (which is a much higher discrepancy than for the base plans).

On my FTTH connection, my ping is usually 8 to 12 ms. At worst it hits 28 ms. But on my Airtel air fibre connection in the office, it is usually 19 to 28 ms, and when a monsoon shower hits, the ping can be 96 to 148 ms. Yes, 96 to 148 ms ping. I am not joking.
