    Yeah mine was from 2011 I think. The touchpad was a little wonky so didn't use it anymore. But it would be a great spare laptop with linux + a mouse

    There is also a desktop in our office that is from March-April 2016. It could get a new lease on life with Linux Mint or Ubuntu.

    It has a Core i3-6100H, 8 GB RAM in dual channel (4+4 GB), and a 256 GB SSD. That is plenty of power for Linux Mint.
