Volume 8

Beware of Spoilers.​

 

This one was surprising. Looking at the way Miyuki and Tatsuya's relationship was I really got interested in the story. Who wouldn't want to know how Miyuki transformed into that Bro-con. Also I immediately came to know that I was gonna come to know how Tatsuya got his nickname the Devil of Okinawa. He was badass in this one as well. You wipe out an army at the age of 12 like its child's play! Thats Mahesvara for you!

 

This honestly is my second favorite volume, just behind volume 7 and slightly above volume vol 16. We get to learn the story of how Miyuki feelings came to fruition, we learn part of the reason why Tatsuya is the way he is(more so in vol 16), we learn of how Tatsuya earned the titles mahesvara and demon of okinawa, we also get to finally meet Tatsuya's mother and despite her treatment of him I do hold sympathy for her as its not entirely what she wants to do and sakurai honami who was an extremely likable character who made an extremely noble sacrifice that was quite a tear jerker especially her last words to Tatsuya as he was desperately trying to save her.

 

The Honami thing was really unfortunate. You missed out on one part it was the second most interesting thing ! Maya's past. The whole kidnapping thing and her relationship with Koichi. I felt really bad for Maya,Miya and Koichi. The whole thing about the Yotsuba clan annihilating the Great Asian Alliance magicians as revenge was badass! Defeated 4000 magicians with 300 only !

 

Yeah I forgot about that part, it just goes to show you that they are all victims of circumstance and shows us that they're are legitimate reasons why Maya, Miya, and the rest of the yotsuba clan are twisted.

The Yotsuba clan lost only 40 magicians, not 300. Still its truely terrifying that they literally took down a country with only that many combat magicians.

 

Looks like I mixed up this with that movie called 300. Teehe. XP Well, I think the most twisted thing about the Yotsuba would be Miyuki.

 

Have you read vol 16 yet?

 

I am reading vol 13 right now. I am at the chapter in which Tatsuya is in Nara and has left for lab 9, leaving Miyuki in a hotel with Minami. Btw if its about the adoption and fiance thing I already know it.

 

What about Miyuki's true origins and purpose? When you learn about that, you'll see just how twisted and broken Maya is.

 

You are giving me motivation to read faster now !! I am looking forward to it !!!!!

Don't worry. I am so serious about knowing everything that I even google search the magic they are using and technical terms they are using to understand it well. I have arguably spent more time on the mahouka wiki than reading the actual novel!

 

I gotta say Tatsuya's rampage towards the end of the volume was epic af. That is the most pissed off we've ever seen from him and knowing the soldiers fighting along his side stopping shooting as the were awestruck with Tatsuya's literally erasing the enemy forces just added to the epicness. I love the fact even as a kid he was extremely OP.

 

Tatsuya never the ceases to be badass and in my opinion thats the selling point of the light novel. He is acknowledged now by many but I am waiting for the moment when the whole team realizes that Tatsuya is a strategic class magician which will be extremely difficult as Tatsuya even fooled Sirius.

 

Yeah mahouka wouldn't be the same without Tatsuya, I like how his character is also a symbol for how having to much power can be a bad thing.
