Tapatalk is a mobile app, available on Android (I'm not sure about iOS) which is made to access forums. I used to be on a forum which had Tapatalk support and it was really useful to use that, as even though the mobile version of the forum is lighter than the full desktop version, it's still pretty heavy, and cannot be as integrated as an app can be with a mobile device. I'd love to have Tapatalk support to use this forum, so do consider!

Ah I did try the app, and it's nothing but a browser fixed to open the forum website and a section with the latest posts, which redirect you to those said posts. It's as good as using a browser instead. Tapatalk is a solution which allows you to browse the thread through its own, native Android interface, and not the web interface, which is the thing that we all load if we use a browser. You can try out the app and browse a random forum to see what I mean. It's much more quicker and less laggy to use an app like Tapatalk than the current Android app, which is, like I said, no more than a browser

Sounds like an interesting idea, but I usually just open a web browser for mobile personally though. Still it wouldn't hurt to think about this.

You could just change the theme to one of the lighter ones. Will probably look into th is, though.

True, but it's still not as quick to use an actual app (which is an integrated one and not just a website viewer) :3

Perhaps we can just add Android web viewer to the Sugoi Design app? :happymm

Perhaps. I suggested it as an easy end-user "solution" whilst we look into what this meme entails. I don't really see how there can be that big of a performance gap between an app and a mobile-friendly site converted app, even if it was a browser portal of which I don't know the specifics. Personally, I've never had an issue with either the mobile version of the site or the app, but alternatives are welcome if they are reasonable to do.

Ah oki. It's not huge, but it's a pretty significant one still. For example, when I was loading the page, I tried to quote you but since the page was still loading, I couldn't. Then like after 10 seconds, it's completely loaded and then I can. If I need to load the next page of, say, another thread, it takes its time (like 5-10 secs, I think?) to load the page. In the app, it takes 1-3 seconds to load the next page. It doesn't sound much but it does make a good difference in how much active I (and possibly others) can be. Tapatalk also provides push notifications which you can't get it through the website, as you need to keep the website open all the time for that. Another thing, though a small thing, is that it takes a lot less data to use it. I do not find myself willing to go to the site on mobile data, but am willing to check Tapatalk on mobile data as it takes much less than the site itself.. with the limited amount of data I have. I only browse the site with WiFi

These are just what, in my opinion, is worth getting the support for. Though I'm fine with whatever decision you will come to :)

Oh, so tapatalk is like some sort of gateway not an app of it in itself? The loading may be due to the fact things need to cache. I know that this can affect performance quite severely even on a desktop. I can't see how using a site through one app and not the browser or other app itself can make that much of a difference with data, but I guess that's whatever magic they use lol.

Yeah, that's understandable. I fully intend on trying to make this work if it's possible for us. I'm all for more choices for the users and bettering the general experience.

Yeah, it is a gateway, I think you'll have a better idea if you read the app listing itself. The screenshots are a bit old but it gives you the gift of it.

Yeah, but that didn't really show a visual on what it was like. Did have a XF addon thing, so there's that.
