Mafia Chatroom Corner

First of all here is a brief description of how a Mafia Game works :-

"The game of Mafia can be played by an indeterminate group of people, each playing the role of either a murdering Mafia member or an innocent townsperson, along with a game moderator. At the beginning of the game, Night falls, and the Mafia family members become aware of each other (by communication from the moderator). They then choose a victim, and the moderator announces the death scene along with the role of the killed player.

When Day breaks, the town must try to weed out the evil by lynching someone they suspect to be mafia. The player with the most votes, the majority vote or chosen by the monarchy (depending on the lynch system used) gets lynched and dies. The lynched player's role then gets revealed. This cycle repeats until the endgame."

PreGame :-
When the game starts, you will get a PM/Conversation from the host SK who will tell you your role. You would either be a Part of the Town/Task Force/Officers, Mafia/Team Kira or a Serial Killer. If you have any questions about the game, you should ask SK through your role PM.

Night Phase:-
In the Night Phase if you are a Vanilla Townie/Officer you don't have to do anything and just wait for Night Phase to end. If you are a Townie Power Role, Mafia member or Serial Killer you will have to use your power and send your target name to SK through your role PM.

Day Phase:-
In the Day Phase, if you are Town, you will have to analyse everyone's posts, voting trends, behavioral patterns etc, to find out who is Mafia or the Serial Killer. If you have a suspect, you vote for that player by using the vote templates that will be in the first post of the Game Thread. e

If you are Mafia or Serial Killer you will have to pretend to be a townie and do your best to throw off suspicion from yourself and avoid getting lynched. If you are Mafia you will have the help of your Mafia Teammates through a Private conversation but if you are a Serial Killer you will be on your own.

Whichever player gets the highest votes will be lynched, i.e; killed off and his role will be revealed. Then Day Phase will end and Night Phase will start. Because of kill actions by the Mafia and the Serial Killer, some more players will die and their roles will be revealed. This keeps on happening in a cyclic manner.

Example : Day Phase 1 - Night Phase 1 - Day Phase 2 - Night Phase 2 and so on.

EndGame :-
The endgame marks the victory of one side.

Town wins if it kills off all the Mafia Players and the Serial Killer and retains it's majority.
Mafia wins if it equalizes the votes or is in majority. In short if there are 3 Mafia and 2 townies left, Mafia wins.
Serial Killer might have a different win condition. The player may have to kill off everyone or survive till the end. This will be explained in detail in the Role PM given by SK.

Hello! Where can I sign up for a mafia game?

 

Hosts and players are busy in exams. So the Mafia games are on hold temporarily. @SK said he would host a game around May 12th.

 

it depends since my airplane will be on 11th and I will arrive back home on 12th and then will need couple of days to organize myself etc. So it might possibly be around mid may.

 

Finally done with my exam! Phew!

@Rohan since we have almost a week before SK's game, is it possible to host a small game? Like say Dethy?

 

A host is needed for that and I don't think there are any. I will ask around though.

 

What's the distinction between an AG and a MG on this site? It's been a while since I've seen the former.

 

I am not sure, maybe @Lio or @Meandola can give an answer.

cuz I had a mafia game in the works, but I never had anyone play it since FTB closed down. AP exams didn't help me finish it though =3=

Once I finish it and after the current game is over, can I set it up? It's set to have 15 players, but I can nerf it to fit a smaller crowd o3o

 

Well you should talk with @SK and decide who will host first. Like he might get busy early or later on.
