    Depends how you thought it was getting worse. IMO it never really got worse, just the 3rd volume was the conclusion to the introduction so it was higher quality naturally then the setup arcs following.

    So the goal of the Can't Fear Your Own World novel's main antagonists is to make a new throne for the new Soul King they want to install. They basically want to turn Karakura into the new Soul Palace. I am not kidding.

    Yeah, Resistance is getting a lot of vitriol. Just to give you an idea of how bad it is: I have seen comments dismissing the show as "garbage" and clickbait videos with titles like "Resistance has not released yet and is already a failure" months ago. Yeah... It never stood a chance with the toxic fans.
    
    No matter what Disney and Lucasfilm do right now, there is no winning with them. They should just ignore the toxic fans and keep moving on for the sake of the silent but loyal majority.

    - So... The female antagonist of the "Can't fear your own world" novel is broken.
    - Urahara can use Kido up to level 99. A Hado 91 (not 99, but 91) from Urahara is apparently much more powerful than a Gran Rey Cero or Cero Oscuras from an Espada in Resurreccion.
    - Urahara vaporized what was likely several cubic kilometres of reality warped water (which is an Island level feat).
    - Shinji never used his Bankai against Aizen because it apparently has ludicrous range and he was afraid of harming his comrades.
