Yeah, although as far as we can tell the players haven't been given any abilities that transcend an average human, but will find out as we go further.

I think it would lose an element of realism if it did. The stakes have to be life or death or the game isn't going to draw out the best.

Thank you. I didn't do much on Thanksgiving, mostly been working on troubleshooting some things on a recent site I was making. Just didn't want to be lazy about reading. I wanted to be able to take my time and react/respond accordingly.

    Chapter Eight
So, it appears that his tough guy friend noticed that there was no sound of gunshots where his friend was left behind, which led him to conclude that his friend could still possibly be alive. He also begins to realize that his friend would probably have vetoed their plan or protested. A sound decision. Going into something under the assumption of having all the information is never a sound one.

Proven right when they think the killer is out of ammunition and merely swaps to another pre-loaded gun. He proceeds to kill both the grappler and the military information guy.

Arisu realizes the angle of the killer's first shots and draws the conclusion of the possible origin of the base. Proven correct when the killer is waiting for him at the end of the hallway. Luckily his friend jumps on the killer and they tumble down the stairs. <-- this begs the question how the friend isn't injured by this decision considering they fell down an entire flight of stairs or so.

    Chapter Nine
Interesting. It seems like they might not be able to pull off the win when it turns out they have to press two buttons simultaneously. Which they do but only because the gymnast girl arrives at the last second to help. She presses the button and the killer's head explodes.

Which introduces an interesting new dynamic. Players can be on both sides of the game.

We also get our first clue but it requires them to listen to radio channels on a Taxi.

We see our first diamond card too, proving they do seem to be geared toward pointing players against each other though the serial killer seems to have some form of sinister cheat to escape by stealing other player's cards?

Yeah all good dude. I know how much of a time sink troubleshooting anything can be. Might take 5 minutes of 15 hours. xD

I'll be honest, in the previous moment I also never considered him having more than one gun. xD It's such a simple oversight with catastrophic consequences. He was facing the stairs and the killer had his back to the stairs, and he yeeted him down backwards. He actually still hit his head as he has blood in the next panel on his head, but I guess the killed was more stunned because it wasn't expected, and he fell backwards. It also looked like he landed on him. But considering it seems like he hit his head hard enough to bleed, I feel like he should've either have a concussion or be KOed.

Yeah, that timing is a little too convenient. On like 1/0 seconds remaining. xD

Yeah, which plays into even friends being pit against each other potentially. Pretty fucked.

We will see before, but I'm assuming by stealing cards he's getting the points.

They have elements of injury as evidenced by the gunshot wounds killing people, fire arrows causing burns, etc. If he fell and hit his head hard enough to have blood running down the back of his neck, he should have been stunned, agreed. Adrenaline would override some of the pain but head trauma is head trauma. Guarantee when the adrenaline high ends, he's going to crash hard.

    Buzzer beater with new meaning.

Could explain the girl wanting to keep boundaries.

This would make for another possible wedge to force between the players. Keep them on the tips of their toes.

Yeah, I would assume that'll happen.

    LMAO yup.

    I assumed that, yeah,

Yeah, plus I don't think there were ever "rules" given aside from in the games, and they never mentioned you can't take the cards, so makes sense the can be taken.

But the question is, who among the MC trio is going to notice first.

I would hedge my bets on the coward. Probably how they'll keep him alive going forward.

Chapter 10 was good. Karube is trying his best looking for a working car in order to look into the radio hint. He noted that canned foods have an expiration date of only about 6 - 12 months into the future, so now this is raising time/date/year issues. He mentions slipping through time, but wouldn't it be in the past if the expiration is "closer" to their original year? He's got a nasty bruise from when he fell down and grabbed the railing, he suspects he broke something.

Things got a little awkward between Chota and Shibuki when Chota walked in on her changing. xD

I guess the adrenaline is hitting Arisu as he seems to be enjoying things. Hindsight is 20/20 for others like Shibuki, realising how much they took the peace and safety they had for granted.

So Shibuki only arrived there three days ago, she hadn't been there prior to Arisu and the others, or just barely before. She was lucky to meet two travellers already accustomed to Borderland and they gave her the run down.

The game she participated on indicated one participant per train, with no time limit or prize. The game was ranked two of hearts and they had to pass through the train's four cars to reach the front, and would then be dropped off at the nearest station. The challenge being that one of the four cars were filled with a toxic gas tat killed anything that breathed it in. Players were given an oxygen mask with three oxygen cartridges holding 5 minutes of clean air each, and once a cartridge was in use, it needed to either be fully used or it'd be lost. Each cart door was locked and would open 5 minutes after the previous door opened, so if the cart had the gas, they'd be locked in with it for the 5 minutes until the next car opened. with 4 cars, they'd have to breath in one car due to having only three cartridges.

In the end, they all used a catridge for the first cart. If they were more observant before going in, they would've seen flowers not dying. Still toxic gas may not kill flowers straight away, right? In the end, Shubuki was broken psychologically and gave up, she walked into the third car intending to die, but was fortunate enough that it didn't have the gas. So she completed the game with the saved cartridge. Shibuki waited for the others to arrive, but they never came.

The fear of death has lead Shibuki and Chota to "have fun". Feel like that wasn't unexpected. I kind of wonder if Shibuki is genuine, or is actually manipulating Chota for her own gain. She seems honest, at this point.

Karube finally found a car with barely any battery, but it was enough for the radio to spit out a cryptic message: "We know the answer. Those who seek, gather at the beach."

A sense of foreboding, Arisu narrating that he hadn't realised the four of them were drifting apart. Sounds like the next game will be bad, which was the following day. The next game's level is seven of hearts! Yikes.
