    480p was around 140MB
    720p was 300MB
    1080p was 500MB

    Either someone is re-encoding them with less bitrate, or x265. Batches are usually official.

    Edit 2: mean like siterips from CR, Funimation, etc

    Crunchyroll rips is 1.3 GB
    x265 10bit bd rips are 300 MB and look much better than CR
    it's not fair bros

    That's because x265 is very good a compressing without artifacts. BD is also a better source to CR.

    I mean unofficial as in usually not the same group

    yeah and also because CR rips have to uploaded quickly so they dont bother with better encoding
    while bd encoders take their time even though the raws are huge

    I remember downloading from anime1 becoz it had anime in 360p back in 2014 and was only 40-60 MB long Detective Conan the Jio happened and I haven't downlaaded anything of 360p I believe

    Never downloaded Shippuden except few episodes. I remember having Itachi and Sasuke vs Kabuto in 1080p

    Yes. It's why streaming is a steaming pile of shit. Imagine paying for garbage quality with shitty bitrate and awful artifacts. They probably have better quality source files, but all the public gets is shit.
