One Piece early on isn't THAT good. It improves massively after each arc, the more world info you get, the better it gets.

That's not me saying all OP arcs are great, some are boring, some are masterpieces.

First overall masterpiece of majority of fans is Water7/Enies Lobby.

Anyways, what I'll say though, One Piece has highs and lows like any manga but the highs are absolutely amazing and lows are things which every manga suffers from.

Once you go through early One Piece basically untill W7/Enies Lobby and if you don’t like it still then the manga isn't for you.

 

Complete the entire Arabasta Saga and then decide.

 

It was good pre-time-skip. But post-time-skip the fanservice became too much and the plot quality too less. At one point (second time-skip) Mashima just gave up and started making shit up literally in the week that he was writing a chapter. I am not joking. He admitted to this in one interview.
