I really doubt China will invade Taiwan without provocation, given that most reasonable people on the planet seem to think so. Top US military chiefs literally testified as such before Congress three years ago, where they also said that they have zero expectations for an unprovoked "first-shot" attack from the DPRK (whose military doctrine they outright described as staunchly defensive only). This has led to many (including those from within the US military and NATO establishment, who openly said as much to Breakthrough News and Novara Media) to wonder if there will be another Gulf of Tonkin like false flag op in order to provoke a reaction from China (which they will hopefully be smart enough not to fall for).

My broadband is being weird again. 60 mbps download speed, 120 mbps upload, 9 ms ping. I have no complaints about the ping, because that is insanely good. But that UL/DL speed ratio is baffling.

 

Tested it again a short while ago. The problem seems to be with only the 5 GHz band. On the 2.4 GHz band, I have 80+ mbps download, similar upload, 11 ms ping.

 

Odd, in my case. It also seems to have surprisingly good range for 5 GHz band. Or may be my smartphone and laptop just have good wi-fi antennas.

Probably the latter, seeing as how my mom's tablet and wife's smartphone have issues with wi-fi reception the farther they are from the router.

 

Late shifts an be rough. I hope that isn't the case with yours.

 

Device antennas also play a part in wi-fi reception strengths. It also matters if the antennas are set up for 1x1 MIMO or 2x2 MIMO. In the former case, reception strengths at range can still be somewhat good (if the antennas are good) but data throughputs will be terrible. In the case of 2x2, both reception and data throughputs at range can be excellent.

It is indeed. Just one wall in-between at a range of 8 metres, and signal is half of what it is close to the router. And that is on a wi-fi 6 device. Meanwhile, with the 2.4 GHz band, you have 75% of the signal at 12 to 15 metres from the router even with two walls in-between.
