How is OLED in 2024 still experiencing burn in? That tech is here for 21 years now and the tech still didn't develop to the point of no burn in's happening. I swear tech developing is a myth.

Because it's organic and experiences degradation over time (Organic Light Emissive Display technology). Other display technologies are non organic. OLED will never not have burn in. The true end game tech is MicroLED which has all of the positives of OLED and none of the negatives as it isn't organic. Currently very expensive to produce.

But tech is devleoping right, they can develop something against burn ins, it's so stupid that after 21 years, the same problems happen.

I don't think you understand. It's organic and has a finite lifespan. The solution to the problem is the different tech (MicroLED) copying OLED but it's all non-organic. All they can do is try to mitigate the issue.

I understand but brother, can't they shift pixels? do bits and bops? surely they can do something to negate that problem.

FINITE LIFESPAN, the pixels degrade and die over time. Pixel shift is a technology that exists with most modern OLED screens. But you can't prevent the degradation completely.

That's why the "holy grail" is MicroLED. It's still some years off from mainstream, but hopefully Samsung continues to manufacture and develop it.

They've been trying to get it to consumer grade TVs. Few years back the smallest TV was like 175 inch I think? Or 100inch for like 100k or 75k. The samllest they had this year was I think 55 inch, or something like that. They just have to keep improving the yields in the manufacturing process and continue scaling screens down.
