Danzo I think was a nice portrayal of what nationalism can do to a man and what lengths he can go to in the name of patriotism. He may have been one of the greatest scumbags in the entire franchise but his actions are a nice and realistic portrayal of how dangerous nationalists truly are.

Yeah, Danzo had great development and portrayal, there's no denying that.

 

Imo:

Sakura in part 1 is typical damsel in distress. Kishis first big work and his weakness in writing females, he just made Sakura a generic tsundere so he could have comic relief and a love triangle. She also used as motivation for Naruto to bring sauce back. Uninteresting and lame sure but not as bad as people make it out considering how we have these types of girls in almost any shounen manga.

In part 2 Sakura was impressive right out of the bat and did a great job for the first few arcs. She only took a nose-dive after Kishi focused solely on NaruSasu so the whole K11 got left behind. Had Sakura had more screentime and did as well as she did in the beginning she would've been a way better character. She only really backtracked in the Kage summit when she went Sasuke fangirl again.

The pairings in general were a shit idea abd Kishi himself stated he didnt know what to do with SasuSaku.

Danzo on the other hand is an awesome character. Polar opposite of Hiruzen and I loved how well written he was as a whole. Really shows the brutality and cold-hrartedness of the old era. He was scum sure but he was a bloody well written scum. Great villain.

Obito was good but they really should've focused less on his Rin obsession as it made him look like a pedo. (Ik he said its not about Rin and that he wanted more than that but it went rather understated) Hes still way better than Madara who was just "Bwahahaha WAAAAAAAR!!!" and Kaguya whose writing boiled down to a blank piece of paper that shouldve stayed in the trash bin.
