Realistically Naruto x Sakura made most sense too bad Sakura sold her soul to the devil to go after Sasuke who abused her in all 699 chapters

 

She was useful enough to become a jounin and one of lead medics in the war. Thats saying something. Putting aside Kishis lack of focus on side characters, she is an above-average shinobi.

She's good with genjutsu (only one not affected in Part 1 against Kabuto and in the Last against Toneri), is very intelligent (both in the book smart sense and ability to learn quick) which allowed her to learn all those complex medical jutsus and knowledge of herbs that made her save Kankuro and create an antidote for Sasoris poison - something which people thought only Tsunade could do. She got to such a level in only 2 and a half years of Tsunade training. Speaking of Tsunade, Sakura's dodging skills are also excellent as she has passed all of Tsunade's brutal tests. What's more, she has chakra control that is far greater than that of anyone else we saw in the series iirc or atleast greater than the vast majority and definitely our two MCs (who just mindlessly throw nukes and let their natural huge chakra pools do the job) as she was able to accumulate chakra for years and as such master the byakugou at a far earlier age than Tsunade and even managed to perfect it before her. (For all we know, Tsunade didn't have perfect byakugou until Shippuden.) As such she is able to survive almost everything and is also able to cause massive damage to the terrain with just simple punches. As if all that wasn't enough, she has access to one of the most OP summonings - Katsuyu.

If people are calling that a useless ninja, then call everyone else in that world useless as well. If we're talking useless in the sense of plot relevance I said it before but Sakura is a female and Kishi doesn't know what to do with females. Likewise, her reasons for liking Sasuke (or lack of them) aren't really a matter of her being shallow and going for the looks but Kishi literally not knowing what reasons he could make and deciding to not make it clear at all. (He said this himself.) It's not that Sakura doesn't have a reson to like Sasuke, it's just that the author didn't care enough to tell us what those reasons are which is a ridiculously stupid decision. Don't get me wrong though, I think pairings in general were a dumb idea so I'm not defending this side of her.

As for Hinata, I always liked her more than Sakura but let's face it, Hinata is way worse than Sakura is in terms of significance. She is a lower rank ninja (fact), lost the clan leadership to Hanabi who is younger, has a lackluster performance when you take into account all she has at her disposal (took her so long just to learn 64 palms and rotation) and was featured far less than Sakura was. Even in Boruto, Sakura is a more valuable asset to Konoha than Hinata. One runs a hospital, the other is a housewife. Nothing against housewives but in terms of usefulness to the shiobi system it's easy to see who has the edge. Also, she has way too much confidence issues and is far too passive to face Sakura. Let's not kid ourselves. Even if the two were to for some reason fight seriously, there is no reason to think Hinata would get close enough as Sakura can literally wreck terrain and she has no outs to Katsuyu. We also need to take into account their speed and reaction times which I think Sakura has an advantage in.

Sakura gets a lot of hate because of the lane writing. Fair enough. But her skill and usefulness? You could've complained about that in part 1 but since Part 2 things have changed greatly.

She becomes a jounin after shippuuden she's only a chuunin in shippuuden. I'm not taking Boruto into consideration because adults in the anime are basically side characters. Thats saying she's good as medical ninja.

She's good with chakra control to break out of genjutsu, not with using genjutsu herself, let's make that clear. She doesn't cast genjutsu at any point.
That being said she's still lacking in offensive mid and long range ninjutsu and her taijutsu skills are extremely limited (aka charging with chakra loaded fists). Shes not really a 1v1 competitor for relevant characters...

Could Sakura fight ninja like orochimaru, pain, deidara, danzo, raikage 1v1? She wouldn't even have "balls" to stand against them, she's clearly inferior to main two, even when she gets to tsunade level, the other guys are way way past kage skills, she's always inferior. Not even that. Remember that moment she charged madara and got stabbed? Pointless. She's not smart enough to stay support role, she's pointlessly charging someone she has no chance of beating, ofc creating another hassle and problem for main two.
She should stay side character as the other ones, then it'd be fine. She's main character though. And as main character she fails miserably in very annoying way

This I can agree to some extent though I'm not really sure if her master chakra control advantage is also a thing in shippuuden since afaik the only reference we get happens at the beginning of 1st series... May be wrong tbh. Just keep in mind that both Naruto and Sasuke were trained by sannin, I cannot believe this went without improving chakra control. I'm basically sure for Naruto since among other stuff, Jirayia was at some point getting into narutos kyuubi chakra control, which led to him nearly dying against four tails. (Wonder how did he manage to stop that btw)

I'm not looking past what I see in the series, really the fact that author could be crap at making females doesn't automatically push away all problems people have with Sakura based on what they read/watch. I judge Sakura as she is in manga/anime. Basically author making crappy character means... That the character is crappy, really, which proves my point

She's all after sasukes looks nothing else and the fact that she can't get over it and does really ridiculously dumb stuff for her own profit . Selfish. Arrogant. Annoying.

Yes but i think i can safely say tghat Tsunade herself is not relatively good TJ user either, is she? I mean take Maito Guy instead of tsunade and make the same brutal test, not even gates open that would be sakuras death. He'd not give her a chance to dodge. Now take Lee, take Neji, take any remotely skilled TJ user..

Hinata, trained Hyuuga gentle fist user is cqc spec ninja. Her fighting style purpose is to literally nullify any chakra use advantage enemy has. That being said, even in part 1 against Neji, after Naruto speech powerup she was moving fast enough to not get insta ko'd by neji, a Hyuuga taijutsu genius. I don't see a reason why she would be unable to land a hit on Sakura given her byakugan advantage. Sakura is not the fastest and is not skilled in taijutsu. Mind you (adding to previous point) kabuto, who himself said he is not good with TJ, was kicking tsunade around in cqc combat landing chakra scalpel hits on her.. Now take cqc spec Hyuuga instead of kabuto..

Since part 2 ending to be more specific. 3/4 of shippuuden she is basically not important and could not even exist for the plot... Not mentioning her (still) bitchy manipulative absolutely selfish character.

Attack on Konoha anyone? Chouji actively fighting 2 pain bodies among with jounins. Konohamaru, freaking konohamaru destroying pain body. Sakura is crying and yelling for Naruto to save her sorry ass.. I mean... She is still daring to still ask him to save her ass. She does crap there. She doesn't move a milimeter to help Naruto when he literally got caught by Tendo. Yeah, Naruto himself lost that one, he was mind broken, unable to answer Nagatos question, pinned down and with disturbed chakra flow, helpless. Who's there to reverse his epic style speech to boost him up? Who's there to bitch slap Naruto again later, when he's losing the spirit? Not Sakura times two, she as usual doesn't help at all. It's Hinata, the weak shy timid "alien zombie" whatever it means Hinata.
Sakura doesn't think clearly what she's doing. Her quick wit and book knowledge didn't suggest her that poisoning her friends is really bad idea when you try to kill a guy that at this point is kage level. Didn't help her realize she's about to be cut in half by chidori. Again. She's skilled as medical ninja, nothing more really, her battle skills are limited, she' selfish and dumb. False love confession.. I mean... That scene... As if people needed more reasons to hate her.

And as it was made a point earlier, it's not about her not ending up with Naruto. To hell with that, stay away from actual relevant MC. I'm saying it straight out that at the point the pairings were settled I thought/hoped she'd be already dead. It's about all shit about her that makes her barely relevant to the plot, barely useful on actual battlefield (what exactly did she do before activating yin seal? How much of that could be done by any other med ninja on the battlefield? Yeah, basically everything, let that sink in) and constantly causing pain and trouble.

How was neji an obstacle for NaruHina? Is Hyuuga clan incest a thing? I mean they were related right?

This is a really fair point. Realistically you don't chase after someone that is international multiple criminal who tried to kill you multiple times, only based on how much suiton happens in your panties because he just looks good. Come on..

 

It's Kishi who said it in inverviews that he pushed Neji to the death for Naruto to stick more to Hinata to make NH happen in the end.

I did not mean in the way that Neji was an obsticle xd

KIshi though that Naruto needs emotional connection to Hinata.

 

Even without nejis death it would happen, neji could even play a role in pushing Hinata towards naruto to make her happy or something like this..

It's sad he died, he was cool character and 64 palms with that wicked Yin Yang range marker from 1st series is still one of my fav Naruto techniques

 

I'm not saying it wouldn't but Kishi stated Naruto needed more emotional connection to Hinata to make it happen since Naruto always cared about others.
