Invisible Mode

I know but the PM thing argument is more suitable for the a turbo game rather than a normal games were DP/NP's last for days. But that is not my main concern. The main problem I have with invisible mode is that I won't be able to see people who are viewing the thread. Like for example right now it only shows for me that the people who are viewing the thread is only me and you but not ningen.

 

Listen, I agree with the PM thing and that it can be abused. The main reason I am against it is because I won't be able to view who is viewing the thread currently. I am pretty sure rohan can do something to remove this PM viewing thing. But that does not mean to erase your entire existence from the forum because of a simple thing. I need to know if you are viewing the thread etc. If everyone goes invisible mode then you will look at the thread and will see that there is literally 0 users viewing it when in reality there is about 20 people viewing it but you can't see them because they are invisible. I am against that.

Actually you can see them partially even if they are invisible.

Take this for example:-



The total user count is 26, but the names visible are 18. So 26 minus 18 equals 8. So 8 people are using invisible mode in the forums. This applies to threads also. The names disappear when using invisible mode but the "total users viewing the thread" counter is not affected by that.

I think invisible mode should be allowed.

With invisible mode people can't use the online crap for actions possibly used. It gets annoying when players say "oh he didn't send that action because he wasn't on" or "here are the people that were on when this action was sent". It's not part of mafia in finding the scum, it's just using a forum tactic in general and an excuse to scum hunt.

With invisible mode people can't use this excuse because you won't have any idea if they are on or not at that time (unless you see them posting somewhere else or something).i think it keeps the bad arguments and deduction by who is on at the moment away so actuslly scum hunting can be accomplished and the mafia game played.

And this is from a person who doesn't even use invisible mode. Or know how to use it. Shouldn't bother people too much.

If you use it or not you will still need to post. You can use it as an excuse "I was busy so I wasn't on" but inactivity for invisible mode wouldn't really matter.

I've seen people literally sit and allvthey do is check if you are in a PM or on during a day action and question it. It's so dumb.

So I say +1 for invisible. Because it gets rid of crappy arguments and ruining of mafia games.

 

In my opinion, Invisible Mode should be on by default for the Mafia section. There is no reason for players to make reads based on a player's online status, so why should you have to show it?

I checked the forum node settings and I don't think there is any option to force a user to not use or use invisible mode in this section. So in the end, it will be up to the player whether he/she wants to use or not use invisible mode when playing a game.

I am also in favor of allowing Invisible Mode. I didn't give it too much credence until, in a game I was in somewhat recently, I was nearly caught out as Scum because I was online when certain Scum actions occurred. The whole thing strikes me as grossly against the spirit of the game. If someone isn't posting, you don't need to know if they are lurking or inactive, because the host will take steps to remove them if it's the latter.
