My sister has a colleague whose mother was admitted to ICU in Lucknow with COVID-19. The hospital said that because she is 80 she is "dispensable" and they are going to stop treating her in favour of younger patients.

Yes, that is the exact word they used - dispensable.

This is what actually went down:
The SII begged the government for an additional 3k to 3.5k crore in funding to manufacture Covishield and Covovax. The government flat out told the SII CEO to raise the damn money himself through a loan from SBI. Only after some journalists got wind of this, the government hastened to approve the asked-for funding in order to avoid embarrassment. Because the Supreme Leader's personality cult matters more than Indian lives, right?

Also, because of that asshat's idiotic push for make-in-India at this ******* juncture, India is facing a shortage of ventilators and other vital medical equipment. He agreed to oxygen imports and vaccine raw material imports only after scientists literally begged him to forget about Atmanirbhar Bharat for a while and focus on saving people first.

His nationalism is literally killing this country.

Same situation here in Bangalore. I took mom to Madhavan Park Apollo Hospital to get second vaccine shot. They turned away an old lady with COVID, saying they have no beds, but took in a young girl who looked to be in her twenties. It's fucked up, man.

I'm surprised these dhongi journalists in the godi media even reported on this.
