Tatsuya vs Gilgamesh

There can't really be one as they both utilize different things and that guys ability is pretty specific

 

Well I made my case for Tatsuya.

 

Well unless Gil can defend against Mist Dispersion, I don't see him winning. Gils armor can defend against magic attacks to an extent, however with Mist Dispersion's destructive capabilities, I don't know if he could defend against it.

 

The problem is that attacks not instantaneous and if his armor can't guard against mist dispersion, which is very likely, he won't get the chance to use it.

 

Even the presence of his sword though distorts the reality the planet breaking may not be instant but it still has other effects that are.

Also Gil himself is immune to the effects of ea obviously... as its his sword so if he destroyed reality (Which is more his thing not really destroying planets) He'd still be there lml

 

I kind of figured he would be immune Lol.

 

Okay, I'll help you this one time, Zex. With this Mist Dispersion thing that is.

I'll start of by saying I don't particularly know how magic ranks work in Tatsuya's verse so I'm just reading the description about Mist Dispersion posted earlier in this thread.

So if we're going to say A rank magic is A rank magic and equalize the laws, whatever they may be, Gil's armor negates whatever Mist Dispersion tries to do since Gil's armor negates up to A rank magic, including A rank. It doesn't even matter how said Mist Dispersion works, as long as it classified as a magic attack, it will not work against Gil. In other words, what Gil's armor does it not ''tank'' the magic attack, it simply negates it as long as it is considered a magic attack.

That's just considering his armor. Gil has other Noble Phantasms in his GoB that can neautralize such magic.

Edit: Just read the whole thread. Unfair match-up. Tatsuya is pretty broken in his own world, but he can't handle most of Noble Phantasms from GoB. Especially conceptual ones such as Gae Bolg which reverse cause and effect among other NPs that are able to affect time and such things. Ea is not needed.

 

Yeah if his armor can negate Mist Dispersion, then I would lean towards Gil. Hard to say though really since the Magic in both worlds are fundamentally different, Mist Dispersion could be above A rank in Fate verse, but its hard to say for certain.

However,

Let's say if Tatsuya used Material Burst, Material Burst is a strategic class magic and undisputedly above A rank magic in mahouka verse. It's basically the magic equivalent of a nuke, but with no theoretical limits. If he uses it on a Gil, would his armor be able to negate it? Or if he uses it on a large object near Gil will he be able to tank the blast? Also to note, Tatsuya has to launch the attack from a far enough distance so that he's out of the blast radius, or he'll get caught up in it as well.

The screen darkened.
The excess light caused the safety features on the satellites to kick in.
Which was why they could not see the claws of hell tearing through the earth.
On board the flagship moored at Zhènhai Naval Port, the sun suddenly appeared.
This heat defied any other means of conveyance, not that anyone lived to pass this on to future generations.
High temperatures that ran off the charts evaporated the metal hull into metallic steam.
The rapidly swelling air surpassed mach speed.
Amid the gushing infrared rays, shock waves, and metallic steam, the naval and port facilities vanished.
Anything within the vicinity, be they man or object, was evaporated.
People and objects slightly farther off either detonated or were burnt to ash.
The surface of the ocean was roasted by the scorching temperatures, causing countless steam explosions.
The resulting hurricane and tsunami swallowed Geojedo Base on the opposite shore.
If not for Geojedo serving as a levee, even Tsushima Base and Kyushu would have suffered the wrath of the tsunami.
The destruction was not limited only to Zhènhai Naval Port.
The shock waves struck the neighboring military facilities. Perhaps a blessing in disguise, there were no civilian cities near Zhènhai Naval Port.
After the tyrannic inferno passed on, absolutely nothing remained.
Once satellite imaging was restored, everyone in Tsushima Base held their breath without exception.
Some of the younger officers fled to the toilet to retch.
No one could mock them for their weakness.
Even members from the Independent Magic-Equipped Battalion could not hide the paleness of their faces.
For the first time, they beheld with their own eyes what Strategic-Class Magic truly meant.
"Enemy situation?"
After Kazama asked, Fujibayashi frantically swept her eyes back to the observation device.
"Enemy fleet destroyed...... No, completely annihilated. Shall we attack?"
True, occupation would be a simple task now.
However, Kazama shook his head.
"No need. Cancel all subsequent procedures. This operation is over."
"All units, prepare to return!"
At Kazama's order, Yanagi gave the order to retreat.
Tatsuya set Third Eye on the ground.
Hidden beneath the helm, his eyes never wavered in the slightest.

Negate it as in neutralising the magic itself? If it is beyond A rank, nah. However, his teasury consists of things such as:

-> mirror capable of repelling magecraft (which would include Material Burst)

-> numerous nuclear warheads

-> sickle that drains away prana and deals damage while passing directly through flesh and armor without causing any actual physical damage

-> swords and spears capable of piercing through mountains

-> sword of ice that freezes the space that it cuts - allowing it to cover the target in ice even if they manage to dodge the actual strike

-> Ship of light that allows him to travel faster than the speed of light. It allows him to instantly return after he is sent to the edge of the Moon Cell's Imaginary Space hundreds of lightyears away. When the feat is questioned, he mentions that it is obvious that he would have a Noble Phantasm corresponding to a technique that sends the target to the edge of space, as his vault holds the origin of human wisdom.

-> Three-edged sword able to arc behind the opponent to attack them from an unguarded position.

-> Axe, scythe, and scimitar with the ability to change their path after being avoided by the target, allowing them to turn around in mid-air towards the target at a speed that allows them to match the pace of a jet.

These are all some of the few treasures possessed by Gilgamesh in the Gates of Babylon. Weapons that could very much either repel, out-power or negate the effects of Tatsuya's magecraft. More so, when playing around, Gilgamesh casually uses weaponry like Gae Bolg, a spear that reverses cause and effect - it will pierce the heart of the enemy without fail. Then there's the fact that F/E Gilgamesh has also collected Command Seals from multiple Masters.

To put it simply, he is not a monster or a soldier, Gilgamesh by himself makes a ''War''. He is a Servant Killer, possessing thousand upon thousand of weapons, each having an unique ability. If a Servant has some kind of a weakness, it is undoubtable that Gilgamesh will possess a weapon inside of GoB that will be able to take advantage of that weakness.
 

 

You played HF as well?

Shirou is my favorite character, followed by Kirei. I was honestly surprised by how good Shirou was.

You should do Tsukihime VN as well. It also takes place in the Nasuverse. There's a manga adaption that adapts the first route and includes elements from two other routes. It's a good adaption, but the VN is preferred. The anime is so horrid we act like it does not exist.

 

Yes, HF is the darkest route. Many consider it the best route as well. I personally like UBW and HF equally for different reasons, but HF was certainly the most entertaining route for me. Kirei, Illya and Sakura are all best in the HF route.

My personal favorites go Shirou, Kirei, Kiritsugu, Sakura, Archer, Gilgamesh, Kojiro, Illya, Medea, Saber, Cu Chulainn, etc.
