It's almost hilarious how our government and people are all excited for the oh so magical bullet train yet not worried about the pathetic state of existing railway infrastructure. It would have been far far better had we spent money on fixing and improving existing railway infrastructure instead of throwing it all away at something we're not ready for.

RaGa doesn't know what he's saying 95% of the time. He's a living comedy show.

And the BJP have no right whatsoever to criticize dynastic politics. Literally one in three BJP politicians in South Indian states are part of a political dynasty and I'm pretty damn sure the picture is, even if somewhat better, not too different in North India.

Refer my comment above on why I think it's a bad idea. And I'm not just saying that as an angry citizen. I'm saying that as a professional commenting on something akin to a money wasting venture by a company that needs to fix existing problems.

 

no one has bothered to get new ones since commie times, since they "technically still work". Also because from one end of the country to the other is about 500-600 km. Plus corrupt government that has stuffed pockets, so no money for new trains.

 

Well India measures 3,200 km from north to south and 2,900 km from east to west so... We're pretty much a small continent and we absolutely need those 160 to 200 km/hr trains.

And that's just sad, man. Let me guess; the corrupt never ever get punished even when their deeds get exposed? Same story here.
