Mostly agreed however depends though if the story, art, and if there's a challenge that makes nearly every turn crucial then it could be pretty compelling. But in some cases where you just move on one enemy to another the turn base can feel like more of a chore than actual play.

 

talkin about turn based games, Civ 5 was fun as hell though. haven't played it in a while but I sunk way too many hours into that

Turn based games are good if it's interesting. Say Heroes of Might and Magic is a turn based game and I'll say one of the best ever. It's just done right and it relased in '96 I think.
