First Stop: Initial Predictions/Thoughts?

Before we get into discussing the manga, take a few moments, read the synopsis and come back here. What do you expect to happen? How do you see things playing out? Is there anything you're hoping for?

Just want to form a baseline opinion before we begin reading so that we can see how our opinions and thoughts change over the course of the reading.

The cockroaches remind me a little of the AOT titans.

 

How could you? The feels

 

My review of the first batch of chapters:
Chapter 1
Awesome start! Those roaches are scary! I wasn't expecting the girl to get her neck snapped that easily. I thought she was going to be one of the main characters. Lol I like decapitation so I am hoping there are some gore scenes like that.

Chapter 2
The tables are turned on Mars. Humans are the insects. O_O I like the irony. lol

Chapter 3
The roaches are allied with the shady scientist on Earth...

Chapter 4
I guess they don't talk after all and it was only one girl in disguise. I wonder what the goals of the professor guy and the U-NASA guy are. I am sure the U-NASA guy must be aware of the betrayal since there is no way they are not keeping track of the spaceship unless the professor guy helped them activate it without U-NASA noticing.

Chapter 5
Seems like there are multiple betrayals. I keep wondering that even if the crew manages to survive, what will they be eating in Mars if the spaceship gets destroyed?

Chapter 6
I thought all of the crew members were going to die. I am surprised two managed to survive.

Chapter 7
A time skip! Makes sense since the humans were annihilated even with that special surgery. They will need more preparation for next time. Despite all U-NASA put him through, Shokichi continued working for them. :| Poor bear. T_T

Chapter 8 to chapter 17 (sorry I got too ahead. Lol)

The roaches have become scarier! They are pretty smart to have destroyed the drugs. It seems most of the crew will get slaughtered once again. The roaches have counters for everything! I am sad for Sheila's death. T_T All romances in this manga have ended in tragedy so far. LOL
That headbutt Michelle gave the roach was cool. She's my favorite character. Hope she doesn't get killed. Now I wonder who were the parents of Akari.

 

I don't think it's that he continued working for them so much as there's nothing else and he still wants to annihilate the roaches for killing his girl. I'd probably more than likely be the same way.

 

True. Now they have that problem with the disease on Earth and he seems more motivated to deal with the roaches and help others like Akari.

 

To be fair, I think it is sound storytelling to have someone who survived the second mission to guide the members of the third. I keep forgetting, has there been any mention of the other survivor?

 

Not much info on Ichiro. One of his siblings has made an appearance though and mentioned him. That's all.

 

That's strange, I wonder what he's been up to.

 

I hope he is living the life. Lol If he had any children they could be old enough to join the Mars mission if they wanted to.

 

Yeah, I have a feeling he would be doing something else though. He didn't seem that type.

 

Chapter 18-22
Just when the humans seem to have the upper hand, the roaches come up with something new. It seems Michelle and Akari are the most powerful so I don't think they are really dead. If they are, there is no hope the others survive. Lol

 

I'm going to have to do some reading to catch up lol
