It really boils down to it being a shounen that wants to tell a positive message of optimism to its target audience but does it in such an idealistic way that if you happen to be slightly above that age it just doesn't make sense

Kishi specifically goes out of his way to try to convert a villain rather than defeating him (despite editors advising him not to lol) and ends up making up convoluted or just illogical ways to do it

 

Which he didn't even do in the end because they still rekt Kaguya and BZ but I guess since they were alien monsters it was fine :/
