Modern anime tries to do the same generic style for 90% original work and it overall aims for a more crism and clear style that ends up showing the flaws of a lower budged show more especially with the overabundance of CG and lack of hand painted backgrounds.

There are exceptions ofc but as far as anime art goes I really miss the 90s and 2000s
