I know a couple here who adopts dogs instead of buying from breeders (fukk them as well, by the way). One recent adoption is an adult who was abused as a pup. You can see the PTSD in his eyes, man. Fukking ruined my mood for the rest of the day.

 

You're not wrong about the psychopaths comment, by the way. People who abuse pups are horrible to people as well i.e. how they treat dogs is a good metric for how they treat humans as well. And people who torture pups in sadistic ways usually move on to humans; it's actually a first step for serial killers and serial rapists.
