Synopsis
​

In the year 1923, a vampire crisis takes Tokyo by storm. Provoked by the illegal trade of "Ascra," an artificial blood source, the population of vampires begins to rapidly increase within the city. Under orders from Lieutenant General Sounosuke Nakajima, the Special Forces Unit 16 gathers vampires within the military to create a new undercover vampire-hunting unit known as Code Zero.

Leading the unit is Colonel Yoshinobu Maeda. Responsible for locating the source of the Ascra trade as well as capturing and killing vampires, he is pressured into producing fruitful results amidst the growing criticism that threatens to decommission the unit. To make matters worse, the vampires within the unit are struggling to grasp their newfound powers and identities now that they are no longer human. With the world at odds against them, the members of Code Zero must find a way to curb the crisis or otherwise fall victim to their own demonic natures.

Episode 1 was alright. So vampires are appearing in attacks. The current victim was a woman who worked as an actress in the Imperial Theater. Turns out she was the Major, Yoshinobu Maeda's fiance. That's rough for him. Seems like she died in the end.

 

Episode 2 was ok. So there are vampires working in the military and they hunt other vampires that prey on people, as far as I understand. Interesting. 2 were taken out.

 

Episode 3 was meh. A whole bunch of nothing happened.

 

I think there is usually a pretty large difference between watching something animated vs literature weather it's a novel or manga.

 

Episode 4 was ok. They spent some time looking for vampires in what seems like the red light district. Seems like blood or something is being distributed turning people into vampires. Or something like that. Not too sure.

 

Episode 5 was ok. So the military was importing a group of S-rank vampires to "replace" the special forces of their own. They ended up being killed by that special unit. The guy that organized the imports was killed too.

 

Episode 6 was ok. So it seems like largely people don't think vampires exist, if the reporter's boss is anything to go buy. The lieutenant General found a way to create new vampires, and turned the 16th squad into vampires.

 

Episode 7 was good. Interesting turn. Misaki bonded pretty closely with the vampire in the acting scene, Deflot. So much so, that she was saved by him turning her into a vampire when part of the stage fell on her, crushing her. He also saved her fiancé Yoshinobu turning him into a vampire.

 

Episode 8 was ok. So the turning into a vampire is being labelled as an illness from what I gather. With that, a "vaccine" is being distributed which actually turns people into vampires. Not good.

 

Episode 9 was ok. Not a lot happened, apparently someone is going around killing vampire kids. There was also a bit of a scuffle with some of the vampires.

 

Episode 10 was ok. So there might be a method to age vampires, interesting. At the end it also seems that Yoshinobu is back vowing to eliminate all vampires.

 

Episode 11 was ok. So the main antagonist Rufus Glen has assume the role of commander and basically had control of the military it seems. We got a battle of Yoshinobu vs Defolt, who was kind of defeated and Aoi was wounded in the crossfire and it seemed like Defolt was going to die too. Defolt seemed about done with life. Thanks to being reckless, Shuutarou was able to get to Aoi to help her. Seems like Defolt will be ok after all.

 

Episode 12 was anticlimactic. So just like that Defolt dealt with Rufus in like 2 seconds by basically having him in an illusion somehow and then he fell into the ocean lol.
