The US and UK are worse. France is as bad and getting worse. Germany is almost as bad in some cities and worse in others. Greece is worse. India is also getting there. Even the Nordic nations, for all the blabber about the "Nordic model", are getting there.

Majority are getting as bad and might get worse. Nothing will fundamentally change for the better as long as you have neolib corporate whores in power. They will only get worse in the long run.

 

Yeah, anything related to housing(whether you are trying to rent or saving up for a deposit to buy a house) is kind of screwed over here.

Nobody can afford property in Bangalore unless they come from generational wealth or are earning obscene amounts annually. Only way middle class folk can afford property here is if they buy property on the outskirts of the district, which is a 70 to 90 minute drive out. And even there, there are glaring issues.

In the western nations, there was never a middle class. Just the oligarchs and the working class. India is a different and unique beast altogether. Here you see the three classes of have-nots, have-some, and have-it-all. I suppose the middle here could just be termed as a type of petite bourgeoisie. An argument could also be made that a genuine middle class of sorts does exist in India, but that is a materialist discussion that could go on for a long ass time.

The gap has been widening for a long time. Since the 1980s at least all over the world. However, it increased exponentially in the wake of the 2020 pandemic. There are exceptions to this norm, but they have their own issues (and those are mostly due to US/NATO imperialist meddling or internal revisionism).

The situation is so fukked right now, that we have leaders the world over who are more neoliberal and right wing than Richard Nixon. I mean... How fukked in the head and heart do you have to be in order to make Richard Nixon of all people seem more reasonable by comparison?
