Meanwhile me who loves them both:

 

I have trouble picking between SPD and SPD-SL bike shoes.

In a nutshell, SPD are MTB shoes...kinda...have worse power transfer but are nice to walk in when I need to, though they look like a football shoe.

SPD-SL is pure performance road shoe but it's dogshit to walk with. Also the pedals can only be used with them as well so I can't use any other shoe.

Basically I hate the idea of having MTB shoes on a road bike, but I also hate the idea of Road shoes being so Road only. What a shit day. I can't decide for shit.

I have a road bike, and having MTB shoes on it would be so shit, but then again, it's more versatile.............

 

Regardless of whether this be common or not, it is just horrendous luck that the new part you ordered was broken in the same mother-fukking place.

 

Just go with the SPD-MTB shoes. The more versatile option makes far more sense, especially if they are better to walk with. At least they won't fukk with your knees (when walking) the way the SPD-SL shoes would.
