You magically drop a 50$ bill from your wallet, which was in your loose back pocket and is now on the ground. Within a couple of seconds, some dude runs towards it insanely fast, picks it up, and runs off.

What do you do? Do you let the peasant have it since you're already stacked out or do you chase the bastard to get your moola back?

Coming to the topic no thief attempts to steal something when people are around. He'd get group banged for real

The time you move your big butt around and start to run he'll be miles away from you. So its better to accept your carelessness,be careful next time and move on.
