I'd agree with your statement. To build further on it though, I'd say that in terms of what kinds of taste there are for anime, and by extension literary works in general, there exists only refined and unrefined taste. Taste refines, or develops, as you watch more and more anime, and so you generally lean towards anime which are "to your taste". Really, taste is just what makes you tick, or what you prefer over other things. One person can have a taste in action-oriented series, while another can prefer psychological thriller. One can be better than the other, and which anime is better than the other is subjective, but the preference which both people show for their anime/manga of choice is not really subjective, it is more of an indicator of their experience with anime, or preferences towards anime as a result of their experiences.

When you say someone has shit taste, you're calling their opinions shit, which you're allowed to do, but that doesn't make them have actual shit taste since everything is subjective and based on taste.

The words "shit taste" are really retarded when you think about it.

I agree but it depends on the subject though.

Telling someone they have shit taste/opinions in anime is dumb, but it you tell someone they have a shitty opinion in something like politics, then that's more possible since they might have corrupt and twisted beliefs about certain things.

Conclusively, in that light, yes I'd say it's possible to have a shit opinion.
