Suggestion Archive inactive sections

The sections which are inactive right now should be archived and removed from public view until the member count rises again. The point is that the forum looks too vast and it will deter users away when they realise that the activity levels do not match with the forum size. I mean the current forum size is suitable for a "50 members online continuously" not a "6 members online continuously" base.

Even if people here try to make SD active, they will have a hard time trying to keep so many sections active at once. If the sections are reduced, we can concentrate our activity and it will actually increase forum activity and make the site attractive to users.

Don't believe me? Check out the last post dates in all of the sections. The last post was made in January in some of these sections. This shows the inactivity and lack of interest in these sections.

I will list some which really need to be archived at the moment.

    1)https://sugoidesu.net/forums/kakegurui.223/
    https://sugoidesu.net/forums/shokugeki-no-soma.93/
    https://sugoidesu.net/forums/tokyo-ghoul.128/
    https://sugoidesu.net/forums/the-seven-deadly-sins.193/
    https://sugoidesu.net/forums/fairy-tail.200/
    https://sugoidesu.net/forums/durarara.133/
    https://sugoidesu.net/forums/monogatari.15/
There should be manga and anime discussion threads for these series as they are almost inactive sections.

    2)https://sugoidesu.net/forums/visual.221/
    https://sugoidesu.net/forums/light.222/
These two sections can be condensed into the main section by using thread tags.

    3) I have no idea what this section is, looks like a dud: https://sugoidesu.net/forums/nico-nico-café.25/.

    4) https://sugoidesu.net/forums/townies-mafias-and-assassins.108/
This will take too much effort to run, best to archive it and end it. A word of advice to the staff, don't believe anyone who says they can make it run, my experience and factual evidence should tell everyone they are making wild claims.

    5) https://sugoidesu.net/forums/roleplay.161/, A worthless section at the moment and it's best to archive it. If the SD RP ever comes to fruition, this section will become borderline useless anyways.

    6) https://sugoidesu.net/forums/fan-club.40/, This does not need a section at all considering we don't have a decent fanbase. Best to give these threads Fanclub thread tags and move them to the chatroom corner.

On a related note, the amount of sections on the forum home page needs to be reduced. There is too much scrolling involved for a forum with such low activity. It gives negative vibes because there is a mismatch between forum sections amount and activity levels. If the forum home page is condensed it will look more attractive to users. Check out Oro Jackson and see how condensed they have kept their forum layout which makes it very attractive.

As an example, this section: https://sugoidesu.net/forums/seasonal-anime-discussion.148/ can be put under this section: https://sugoidesu.net/forums/anime-discussion.8/.

Seen but didn't think it needed to be specifically addressed given the nature, but I guess that you want acknowledgment that it was seen.

Most of it is tl;dr but agreed to a degree on it. Review of current section on the front needs to be done, again. Inactive ones such as kakegurui thrown into another section/trash (non literal) as appropriate.

    Potential restructure/removal of featured series.

In regards to "too much to scroll" it's hardly effort to scroll a page and I think most things people use are fairly easy to find. Reducing items shown goes back to sections in sections and a small amount doesn't really look good from the same perspective anyway. If solely active things were put at the front the forum structure -- what little there is -- would be non-existent and be all over the place given the 4 active forums (non-literal).

Right now it's what to remove from the front and if sections in sections in sections need to happen, it's to action it appropriately to "condense it."

This will be reviewed. Thank you for the suggestion.

Making a global archive section and put all inactive sections there would be a good idea.

I wouldn't do that because they can be placed back into the original parent section

So what about the non anime manga inactive sections?

Haven't gone through any of it yet, but I wouldn't remove all "inactive" things because it's not really productive either. But most sections can be grouped in one way or another with a potential main parent with children nodes. This could be done to trim it down and not just throw everything into one big archive meme.
