Ashgate #2 - Unknown Awakening.

You decide to leave Umbra to her own devices. She wonders back off toward the bed, and you can hear jumping on top of it once more. There were more shelves in here, as well as draws and some cabinets too.

I first decide to rumage through the cabinets

 

There was a lot of... work related items in here. Lots of guns, body armour, and other tools like wooden stakes, charms and seals. You were reluctant to pull out all of this stuff in front of Umbra - but you figured she was too engrossed in the film to notice anyway. As you emptied each cabinet, searching for another bit of paper - everything piled up around you. You didn't find anything of the sort - so you started searching the various cases and bags that were piled up around you instead. As you searched through everything, it became very apparent that most of these things needed repairs, or needed to be disposed of in the proper way. Maybe there was a proper armoury inside this place that had fully functioning "work tools"?

You started to pack everything away neatly. You didn't end up finding anything of use.

Taking note of the things in disrepair i turn to the drawers

 

Some of these things could be repaired, given the right tools for the job. Hrm. You filed it away in the back of your mind, and turned your attention towards the drawers. There were more files on other stuff that didn't seem to matter all that much. You packed everything away neatly again.

I then turn to the shelves

 

More photos, knick-knacks and other display items. You threw the photos into a nearby bin. Tucked underneath a potted plant, was the last cypher.

With all the cyphers i decide to return to the bathroom

 

You stepped back into the bathroom and turned on the shower again. Once more, six of the white tiles, turned into a different color.

I decide to walk over the tiles and see if anything happens

The shower turns off. You can hear the sound of tile scraping against tile. You look behind you - and see that an opening has been revealed inside of the wall. Inside of it - a small tablet like device that seems to use a thumb print scanner to activate. You take it - and the opening in the wall closes.

This must be that device thing! I press my thumb on the screen

 

The device beeps, and comes to life. On the screen it reads:

Welcome, Desmond.

Huh. Now that you've seen it - that's definitely your name. Desmond... Ulysses Grant. You grasped your head - the throbbing suddenly ramped up in intensity. Was this something that you were not supposed to remember? You clung to your name desperately. "Damn my family, damn my past - just let me keep my name." you thought to yourself as you slid down onto the cool tile. After a few minutes, the pain subsided. You looked down at the screen - it looked like you could open the locked door back in the study now.
